premium maps, Garmin Golf membership

Garmin Golf membership cost 100 Euro per yer. Main benefit is premium maps and green undulation. This is fine but buying S50 nobody warns that premium maps are loaded vis your phone at a start of every round. Consequently after the round map is deleted from the watch. Probably it is because very small storage capacity in this watch.

Imagine now you are abroad and every round you start you have to pay expensive ( sometimes very expensive ) data roaming

Besides green ondulation is not provided in many countries.

So is it really worth ?

Distance and calories not syncing when playing golf

Hi,

I have a garmin approach s50. When playing golf , my distance covered and calories burned do not pull through to garmin connect app.

Every other activity I do does . Its very frustrating

Ive tried pairing and unpairing. Ive tried switching on " record" activity in golf settings .

Tried plugging Into a laptop and syncing on garmin express , without success .

I only got the watch in November, have played around d 10 rounds, and only twice has the Information pulled through.

All updates have been done, and as I mentioned earlier, gym sessions, runs, walks , etc all appear instantly in the garmin app........not the golf info though.

When I score a round, the score appears on garmin connect, but not the calories/ distance .

My old garmin approach did this every time !

Cannot enter 18 hole score

I use s50 in large number mode. After finishing every green I cannot enter score but when I move to next hole s50 prompts to enter last hole score. But after 18 hole green there is no any prompt. I cannot enter the score other than go to score card enter the score and than finish round. In small numbers mode there is edit tool in the bottom of the display but it looks like it was forgotten in large font mode.

I purchased a new S50. In the course I encounter different issues.

When I play off the tee the watch asks for the club I played with.
I enter the club and it starts counting the distance when I walk to the ball.
Having arrived there, how can I ‘tell it’ that this is then ending point?
When I play the next shot with the PW it doesn’t detect it as a new shot mostly.
(I don’t own a C1/CT10).
When I play a practice swing it starts detecting by asking for the club.
How can I easily pauze the detection for practice swings?
Today I played a par-3 course, 9 holes. The course is found by the watch and
I selected it. I also that that I want it to keep record of the scores. While playing,
it only shows the distances to the green, it does not show any bunkers, water, etc.
I don’t expect a detailed view, but I can not select any hazard anywhere. When I played
a par-4 hole on another course some days ago, it only showed bunkers on that hole,
not at the par-3 holes.

Can you please help me out? Thanks in advance!

Fixed issue toggling PlaysLike mode on the hazards and layups screen on S50.

I've seen conflicting information online, so I'm hoping to get it directly from an owner or Garmin; does the S50 have the option to use a Virtual Caddie if you have the paid subscription? Whether that require a phone or not.

My watch has been draining battery like crazy(20-30% a day) for past couple days. I am using stock watch face and I normally can get through 24 hours using about 12-15%. I tried to check my settings and also found out the wifi sync shows transfer completed 1 file failed with red circle. Wondering if it could the reason it is draining my battery. I tried reset the watch and delete data, it doesn’t seem to help. Could the recent update causes all this?

Home Tee Hero upgrades

Do you expect that Home Tee Hero will ever get the feature to select what holes you want to play without have to use the skip feature. I came from the SkyTrak world as well as others I used commercially and all had this feature. Disappointing that it doesn’t do that. Also it would be great a have a closest to the pin contest, and driving on a specific hole. My old old P3 Proswing software had all three as well as a practice mode.

Battery drain issues - running out of battery in a few hours without GPS mode.

My Approach s50 has battery issues recently. The battery gets drained in a few hours in normal mode without using the GPS. I have tried hard resetting a few times but the issue is still there. Is there any other way I can fix this?

Have a brand new S50, played 3 rounds this week but the 'plays like' & distance to hazards/lay ups function not working. The normal distance to pin & scoring functions all ok.

Why do I see large numbers counting down on the screen as I leave a green?

I often notice a ti.er or some sort of countdown appear (6, 5, 4, etc) when I leave a green and before I can enter the score foot the hole. What is this function and what do the numbers signify please? To date I just ignore them.

Do the S50 standard golf maps (not the full vector) show accurate bends and dog legs, or is it just generic graphic with the hazard and layup points overlaid?

Hello,

I am currently on system software version 6.59 on my Approach S50, and the music volume control issue is still present. Even when I set the volume to maximum on the watch, the output to my Bluetooth headphones remains very low, almost like it is stuck at half power. I have already tried unpairing and re-pairing my headphones, restarting the device, and testing with different headphones, but the problem persists. Could you please confirm if Garmin is working on a fix for this bug and provide an estimated timeline for a resolution?

Inquiry About Swing Tempo Feature on Approach S50

I purchased the Garmin Approach S50 after comparing it with the S70 on your official website, where it was indicated that both models include the Swing Tempo and Swing Training features. However, after setting up my S50 today, I noticed that the Swing Tempo feature is completely missing.

Could you please advise whether this function can be added, and if so, how I can enable it?

Garmin approach S50 not sharing golf data to Strava

I have a GS50 Approach golf watch in which has been working fine until lately, in the past I would start a round on my watch, play my round and then finish it, it would have my scorecard sent to the garmin app & then send my activity to Strava, walking each hole on a map, how many steps, cals & time, in the past few weeks not a single round has went to Strava (there has been many) & some have shown on the app as a round with scorecard etc? I don’t get it, I also done an open water swim which wasn’t recorded yet my walks & runs are all recorded fine and shown on Strava with the map?

I have done all checks, watch is connected to Strava, activity tracking is on etc, have no idea what else to do?

does anyone have any suggestions,

Can you delete enhanced course view maps off watch after playing to free storage? Or does the watch do this automatically?

I noticed that when I used the enhanced course view maps, it said it was downloading. I accidentally downloaded the wrong course and want to delete it so it’s not taking storage space on my watch. Is this something that can be deleted or does it get deleted automatically?
