Hello, recently I bought an Approach S44 and when I try to use Connect IQ to add Watch Faces, the app indicates that S44 is not compatible. I read in another post that the S44 is compatible with the app. How can I solve it?

If you recently purchased within the last 30 days from us at garmin.com, you could return it to get your money back and purchase a device that is compatible with the Garmin Connect IQ Store. The closest one to the S44 would be the Approach S50. They are the same size of watch, the S50 does have a heart rate monitor and can be used for more fitness activites. So it's a closed device. Bad thing if you consider the cost of it. It makes me question the purchase.

You are unable to add anything from Garmin Connect IQ Store to the Approach S44 unfortunately.

So, how can I add anything to the watch? Or you are saying that is a closed device and I can't add anything???

That is correct, that the S44 is not compatible with the Connect IQ app. If you follow the below link it will bring you to the Approach S44's page. From here if select Specs and then you search Connect IQ there will be no option showing up, indicating the watch does not have the compatibility unfortunately.

I am trying to download watch faces for the S44. It has paired with my android phone. But the app states the watch is not compatible.

My S44 watch (and Garmin Express) both report software version 6.59. The watch is not seeing any version beyond that. I see that there were at least 3 versions released since then and the latest looks like 9.05. Why does my watch not see them?

Removing and add it to Express did the trick and I'm not on 9.05. Thanks for the help!

While the S44 is Connect IQ compatible, not all watch faces will be available for it. On each watch face page in the Connect IQ app, scroll down to Compatible Devices to see those which are compatible with that watch face. Looking at the Train Station watch faces by DmClockFaces and LopesHinz, neither is compatible with the Approach S44.

Hi, I'm looking for something clean like Train Station. It may not be compatible with the S44. I'm told as it's mainly a golf watch there aren't any add on watch faces available.

I'm trying to zero in on my true distances for each club. When I use for example a hybrid to punch out from the trees and it only travels half the normal distance, does the watch include that distance in with the AVG and MAX distances in the App? Same with shots where you shank the shot or it hits a tree and only travels a third of the normal distance. Would it make sense to create a club called "punch out" or something similar so that the shot is not calculated in your averages?

I don’t understand why garmin does not include an « exclude from stats » option for each shot in the golf app… A much cheaper manufacturer has a « positional » option to do so in post round edition…

the only workaround I found was to create a « junk » club in my golf bag to record such situations. A nonsense given the price of garmin watches

Missing 'View Shot Maps' on score card in Garmin Golf app.

My old garmin S1 finally gave out. So now I have the S44. When viewing score cards on the S1 rounds in the Garmin Golf App I see 'View Shot Maps'. For the S44 this feature is missing, is this feature still supported? Did I buy the wrong model?

How do I manually record putts while playing a round.

The on course hole score always shows two putts. Is there a way for me to manually change that?

The putts screen of the scorecard is separate from the total strokes (score) for the hole. The device will not let you enter in more putts than the score allows depending on the par for the hole. For example, if your score is 4 with 2 putts taken on a par 4, you need to enter 4 for the Strokes, then 2 for the Putts.
