Guten Tag,

nach einem Tag ausgeschaltetem S 42 (NEU) ist 25% der Batterie verbraucht ??

Auch mit ausgeschalteten Verbrauchern ( Licht, Bluetooth, e.t.c.) ist die Batterie am ende der Runde auf 18 % Ladung ?

das kann doch nicht richtig sein.

I have searched and searched and can find no answer to why the garmin app is showing i am 0.6 handicap when I average 21+ over 18 holes. Best I've ever done is 16+. In any other app im 22hc so why cant garmin show me the same? Its frustrating that I need to use other apps to get a true handicap

The same information my previous response applies to the Approach S70. Updating your course maps and confirming if you have handicap scoring enabled with a specific handicap entered in the golf settings on your watch is applicable to correcting the issues with your handicap reflecting the current value you are seeing.

Hi thanks for the reply, I actually have the s70 I don't know why its in the s42 section. My scoring was on garmin golf, what is the best scoring to use? Everything is up to date. I input exactly what shots I take and there is no way im 0.6hc 😅. It seems with other forums that this is a common problem

Update the course maps on your watch using Garmin Express to get them up to date to the most current version, which should reflect (25.20) for all regions as of September 23, 2025.

If you continue to see concerns with the handicap, check to see if your watch has Handicap Scoring enabled by opening Golf Settings > Handicap Scoring > Then check and see if you have a local handicap or index/slope method enabled on the watch.

Check your About menu accessed through the gray gear icon at the bottom of the main menu on your S42. Then scroll to the bottom of your About menu and confirm what the section is showing in "Current EPO Info: CPE" and if the CPE is showing expired, then sync your watch through the Garmin Golf app on your smartphone so the satellite data can be updated on the unit.

Locating Satellites/Wait for GPS

My Garmin Approach S42 is always 'locating satellites' when trying to find my course im playing golf at. And when I go to start an activity, it shows the 'wait for GPS' message..

Plugged into Garmin Express and made sure it was up to date with the 8.30 software. And updated all courses. Still no joy.

Not ideal! What can I do next?

Adding a Round

Yesterday I played 18 holes, but started on the back 9 first. Yes, I changed the the starting hole to 10, and when completing the 18th hole, changed to hole 1. The score on the watch did show correctly, but don't recall getting the SAVE ROUND message, When I got home, I synced the watch with Garmin Golf, but my round didn't show. Is there a way to add the round manually? I still track score, putts, and penaties on the scorecard. Is there a way to add this "missed' round manually from home?

The round would have to manually created through the Garmin Golf app but there would not be the shot data.

At the end of the round, opening the round menu by tapping the button on the upper right side of the watch will allow for the "End Round" option to be selected to save the round. If start on a hole other than 1 and have to transition back...the end of round will not automatically prompt the save round option on the screen since you are not ending on hole 18 in a 1-18 hole order.

The Approach CT-1 sensors are compatible with the Approach S44, S50, and S70 models only at this time.

The S42 is compatible with the Approach CT-10 sensors (which have more features) but is not compatible with the Approach CT-1 sensors.

When outdoors golfing, Bluetooth signal is not as strong as it is indoors due to there being a lack of enclosed walls for the signal to rebound off of.

The connection between the watch and you smartphone will only stay connected for about 15-20 feet before losing the connection outside when golfing. This is why you are seeing the watch disconnect when you walk away from your smartphone that was left in the golf cart.

Once the Bluetooth connection is lost after you have walked away 15-20 ft or so away, the watch has setting for smartphone connection alerts within Settings that enables the watch to display an alert when you watch and smartphone have disconnected from Bluetooth. Did anyone respond to this question - since the upgraded app a couple of weeks ago my S62 has started disconnecting when I move to a green and leave my bag on the next tee. It has never done it before...

S40 with CT10s will be working fine during a round but then gets stuck on one paired club and then will not unpair from that club even when that club is placed in the bag and a different club is taken out of the bag for a new shot. After the round I can see that all the swings were recorded but club identification is missing for the holes played after the problem starts.

Yep, had the same problem yesterday. The watch got stuck on my putter, so no spots recorded at all after the 5th hole. Very disappointing.

I saw this thread from a few months ago, but wanted to add my experience here because I have an S42 instead of an S40.

I have the sensors on my wedges and putter. Occasionally the watch will just get stuck on a particular club (lately it's been either my putter or SW). Once it is stuck, that club will constantly display on the watch. I also stop getting club prompts for subsequent shots with clubs lacking a sensor (like my drive on the next tee box). Other clubs with sensors either just don't register on the watch when in hand, or the watch will show (X2) indicating that more than one sensor is active.

It seems that shots are sometimes still mapped, but without club data as the user in the linked thread mentioned. I've also experienced that sometimes shots are missed, because several times during my last round the starting position of my drive was missed. It would somehow pick up on the second shot, but again without designating a club. Once it gets stuck, I try to "add last shot" on the watch from my location, but I don't know if that actually does anything...and it kind of defeats the purpose of the sensors.

I haven't yet tried the steps outlined in the linked thread for resetting/re-pairing the sensors. I will do that the next chance I get, but was curious if there was a way to mitigate this mid-round. Frankly, doing all those resets while out playing is not an acceptable solution because you have to keep moving. When this situation arises, it would be way easier to just not have the sensors at all...at least then they wouldn't be interfering with the club prompt after a shot.

Was hoping that there might have been an update since the last response to this sort of problem.

It doesn't appear that anyone at Garmin is too concerned with this issue. No response in over a week.
