Guten Tag,

nach einem Tag ausgeschaltetem S 42 (NEU) ist 25% der Batterie verbraucht ??

Auch mit ausgeschalteten Verbrauchern ( Licht, Bluetooth, e.t.c.) ist die Batterie am ende der Runde auf 18 % Ladung ?

das kann doch nicht richtig sein.

The handicap calculation is wrong

I have searched and searched and can find no answer to why the garmin app is showing i am 0.6 handicap when I average 21+ over 18 holes. Best I've ever done is 16+. In any other app im 22hc so why cant garmin show me the same? Its frustrating that I need to use other apps to get a true handicap

Locating Satellites/Wait for GPS

My Garmin Approach S42 is always 'locating satellites' when trying to find my course im playing golf at. And when I go to start an activity, it shows the 'wait for GPS' message..

Plugged into Garmin Express and made sure it was up to date with the 8.30 software. And updated all courses. Still no joy.

Not ideal! What can I do next?

I saw this thread from a few months ago, but wanted to add my experience here because I have an S42 instead of an S40.

I have the sensors on my wedges and putter. Occasionally the watch will just get stuck on a particular club (lately it's been either my putter or SW). Once it is stuck, that club will constantly display on the watch. I also stop getting club prompts for subsequent shots with clubs lacking a sensor (like my drive on the next tee box). Other clubs with sensors either just don't register on the watch when in hand, or the watch will show (X2) indicating that more than one sensor is active.

It seems that shots are sometimes still mapped, but without club data as the user in the linked thread mentioned. I've also experienced that sometimes shots are missed, because several times during my last round the starting position of my drive was missed. It would somehow pick up on the second shot, but again without designating a club. Once it gets stuck, I try to "add last shot" on the watch from my location, but I don't know if that actually does anything...and it kind of defeats the purpose of the sensors.

I haven't yet tried the steps outlined in the linked thread for resetting/re-pairing the sensors. I will do that the next chance I get, but was curious if there was a way to mitigate this mid-round. Frankly, doing all those resets while out playing is not an acceptable solution because you have to keep moving. When this situation arises, it would be way easier to just not have the sensors at all...at least then they wouldn't be interfering with the club prompt after a shot.

Was hoping that there might have been an update since the last response to this sort of problem.

Yesterday I played 18 holes, but started on the back 9 first. Yes, I changed the the starting hole to 10, and when completing the 18th hole, changed to hole 1. The score on the watch did show correctly, but don't recall getting the SAVE ROUND message, When I got home, I synced the watch with Garmin Golf, but my round didn't show. Is there a way to add the round manually? I still track score, putts, and penaties on the scorecard. Is there a way to add this "missed' round manually from home?

S40 with CT10s

S40 with CT10s will be working fine during a round but then gets stuck on one paired club and then will not unpair from that club even when that club is placed in the bag and a different club is taken out of the bag for a new shot. After the round I can see that all the swings were recorded but club identification is missing for the holes played after the problem starts.

Help in posting for Approach S20

New to this forum and no section for help in S20 golf watch. I have a new laptop W11 and connected my Approach S20 and it found my S20 and said there were update to courses so I updated them..after I say it seems they updated all around the world and not just North and South America. There is no "Manage Courses" and somewhere it said you have no choice to but to put all in before in before you can manage..that seemed backwards..so I did but then error said not enough memory. So I removed the S20 from the Garmin Express App and tried again..still error..Now when I unplug the watch from the computer and read the watch it says Gold Maps Missing...Should I go back to express and try again but I only want North and South America.

I am hoping someone can help here or tell me where to post my question..Thank you.

Garmin S42 Notifications

Hello;

I just bought a new Garmin S42 for the upcoming golf season and I have a few questions about notifications.

1.) The watch seems to be receiving the notifications fine, however, I have to scroll away from the watch face to them to find them. There doesn't appear to be any kind of haptic letting me know it has arrived? My old vivoactive HR would vibrate/buzz and take over the screen for a few seconds letting me know who was texting or calling. Shouldn't it work that way?

2.) There is one notification (the iOS Find MyiPhone to be exact) that seems to lock up the notification screen requiring me to restart the watch to get out of it?

3.) It doesn't seem to be counting my daily steps.

I've been using that vivoactive HR for the past 5-6 years with no issues and am very familiar with the Garmin Connect Mobile App, Golf App and applicable settings, however, I am having trouble getting this watch to work the way I think it should.

Thoughts?

Garmin S42 does not include the number of putts to the number of strokes - this seemed to be different prior to the last software update

What to do if a hole is temporarily split?

How do I score it?

I'm a new user and completely lost what would be the procedure in such a case.

At our course, one hole is under repairs and another is split in two (they've got an extra green it seems for this purpose 3/4 down the fairway).

So the one hole is now two holes.

I've no idea how to tell the watch to

- close down one hole early, on a temporary green

- and score a hole that's not there

I don't know how scores transfer from my S42 Approach watch to my phone app. Right now, sometimes scores transfer, and sometimes they do not. I'm probably overlooking some setting on the watch, but I cannot figure out what it is.

I received my S42 watch about 3 years ago. Went to wear it last week and the screen shows lines and nothing more .I assume it is charging because there is a difference in lighting when I turn it off but can't see anything on the screen other than lines. I called support. I reset but nothing has changed. My husband has 2 Garmin watchest; Tactical and Fenix 6. Both are still working fine after 4-5 years. I wish that my watch would have been as reliable and dependable as these 2 watches. I'm reading that other Approach owners are having issues with their watches as well.

S42 not recording the shot within 100 yards of the pin

My S42 does not let me record the club I used when my shot is within 100 yards or less of the pin. If I’m 150 yards out and I hit a shot for 100 yards so I’m now 50 years from the pin, it does not ask ,e which club I used and proceeds to keep adding the yards up so my two shots of 100 yards and 50 yards become one shot of 150 yards. It should have finished the 100 yard shot, asked what club and then show a chip for 50 yards. Garmin actually sent me another watch and it does the same thing so it’s not my watch. Anyone else experience this? It only happens when I’m within 100 yards or less of the pin. I don’t see anywhere on the watch to manually stop the shot and input your club?? Any help is appreciated!

I would like to "redefine" the current golf course specific to my training needs so that I can load the golf course for practice purposes and the other one which is public for tournaments and competitions, by reassigning hole numbers and the rounds to be taken.

Unassigned sensors are driving me crazy! How can I go back to factory settings and start the pairing process all over again?

Hi,

Due to a combination of factors (including user error, no doubt), I now have NINE unassigned/unknown C10 sensors. Only my driver, 7-iron, and putter are paired correctly.

I've started picking an unassigned sensor on my Garmin watch, then going club-by-club (excluding the driver, 7-iron, and putter) to see which sensor this is. But the process is tedious. In some cases (I don't know why), none of the clubs I pull out of my bag match the unassigned sensor.

At this point, it would be easier if I could wipe out all the pairings, go back to the factory settings, and start the pairing process from scratch.

Is this even possible? How do I go back to the factory settings?
