R10 remote multiplayer with native Garmin app only — possible in 2026?

Hi,

I own an Approach R10 and want to play virtual rounds with a friend who also has an R10 in another location — same course, same time, ideally seeing each other's shots.

From my own testing, Home Tee Hero multiplayer appears to be LOCAL only (same phone, taking turns), and custom Tournaments don't seem to register Home Tee Hero virtual scores.

Is there any way to do remote/online multiplayer using only the native Garmin software (no PC, no GSPro)? Has anyone actually gotten this working in 2026? Phone/tablet-only setup preferred.

Thanks for the feedback, EricChen1115 . While there is not currently a way to do this, it is something I'd like to have you submit a request for using our ideas portal. That way, it gets to the appropriate team and can be considered for possible future implementation.

Approach R10 keeps freezing since 4.50 update

Is anyone else having issues with the R10 freezing since the 4.50 update? I'm using Awesome Golf and it worked good before I did the software update. Now it won't read chip shots hardly at all and keeps freezing up (red light). I can't get more than 2-3 shots with any club before it freezes.

I figured it out. I was running it off my PC, which must be too close to the monitor and creating interference. I shut down the computer and ran it off my iPad and it worked much better. Turned on the PC to double check, stopped reading chips. Shut it down and it started reading them again.

4970361 Let's hold off on a full factory reset for now. Could you please try testing this without being connected to any third party apps, such as Awesome Golf? I'm curious to see if this behavior still occurs.

I reset it every time it freezes. Seems to be the only way to get it unfrozen. Full factory reset?

Hello 4970361 It is frustrating when the device is not working as expected. If this is freezing I would love to help investigate this further. I updated my Garmin R10 to the new 4.50 firmware and tested it out with Titelist RCT balls. I am not getting any club path, face or angle data still.

I shared data with them and in the last day shared photos of my setup. I do have a case open on 4.50, have done for a couple of weeks now. Go into help and raise a ticket. Export some 4.30 session data and 4.50 session data and sent it to them. It'll help them work out that there's an issue they need sorting.

Thank you for getting back to us! I was on the phone with Garmin support earlier today as well, and they said that they could not currently see any open cases with firmware 4.50. I am also happy to share data if needed. Please let me know whatever support you need from us users to help solve this.

Dear Garmin team, Could you please provide an update or at the very least give us the option to revert back to 4.30. This is clearly an issue effecting 100's of R10 users who have purchased your product. It's especially frustrating knowing that this used to be a very reliable and accurate device, but now it's useless to many of us. Please support your customers

Any update on getting a left-handed club graphic on the R10? It's a mind-twister looking at a right handed club and trying to analyze data as a lefty. Even just removing the image of the club would be better than looking at a right handed club.

Hi Everyone,

I read Garmin's comments about the image of the right handed clubhead on their stats screen (they say it doesn't affect the numbers) and that's fine, but for a lefty, like me, this adds a layer of mental processing that we shouldn't have to deal with. How hard can it be to create a button for lefties that flips around that image and anything else in the app geared towards righties? I get it, it's just an image and has no bearing on the numbers, but seeing that image there while trying to read the numbers just throws me off, and at that moment, makes me have to think about ignoring the image. It's like reading the word "BLUE" while written in the color green. It's just weird.

Creating the button for lefties would be great, but getting rid of the image altogether would be fine too. Golf is tough enough. Help!

View Practice Sessions on Garmin Connect Website?

I haven't been able to find a way to view the data from my R10 practice range sessions on the Garmin Connect website.

After a session on the practice range, I can only view the data through the Garmin Golf app on my phone. I know I can export a .csv file, but I was hoping to also be able to see the graphical data on my computer as well.

After completing a round of golf, I can see all the data from the round (scorecard, shot maps) on the Garmin Connect website. I wish I could also do this with the practice range sessions.

Am I doing something wrong?

Haven't fired up the Sim in a while and last night i decided to download the new HTH. Everything was working fine for the first 15 minutes, then my Garmin R10 did an update to the latest firmware in the middle of a practice session. The light started flashing purple really fast. I never seen that before and figured out that it means its doing an update. Everything seemed to work fine for a few more shots. Then all of a sudden HTH would not track a single shot. Tried PW - 5 iron, full shots, half shots, didn't make a difference. The R10 light is flashing green, then red on the backswing, like normal, but nothing gets recorded to HTH. I tried shutting everything down and restarting. I calibrate the R10 every time. Took about 50 shots after all this and it only recorded 1 shot after I moved the ball about 5 feet from the R10 and it showed its flight straight right at like a 90degree angle over the trees. Very frustrating. I'm going to try it again on E6 tonight and see if it is a HTH problem or R10 problem.

OK, I'll start with the bug. When a ball is hit into the water it is often dropped within a foot of the shore, which is regularly unplayable.
At minimum, have it taken 2-3yards back, to avoid most of the steep slopes.

The feature request is to have an R&A rules based drop option. https://www.randa.org/rog/the-rules-of-golf/rule-17
At minimum, choose from stroke and distance OR back-on-the-line relief.
Additionally add the club length circle AND lateral and two club lengths relief option.

The current set up can unnessarily ruin a round, due to low flighted shots of an unknown slope gradient.

R10 Software Version 4.4 & 4.5 Wildly Incorrect Data - Can I Rollback?

I got my r10 in November 2025 and was pretty impressed with how well it worked so decided to keep it. It worked well for me all up until the 4.4 software version release and now the 4.5 version release as well. I always calibrate the device and make sure everything is setup the exact same way I always did and still it can’t track well at all (to the point where my eyes are 10 times better at judging how far it went or the direction).

I’ve seen multiple questions asking whether it is possible to rollback to 4.3 but haven’t found any answer to that. At this point my r10 is basically unusable and I wish it would just go back to how it was just a few months ago.

Hi, I've just received my Garmin Approach R10 but cannot figure out if it faulty or not,there's no lights it won't turn on and has been charging for over an hour, please am I missing something??

Home Tee Hero Crashing to Black Screen, after closing & restarting often get a "no response found" (Android 12)
