Metric fields messed up

Prior to the recent Garmin Golf app update, I was able to hold any metric field on the full shot data screen to reorder it, allowing me to place my most important metrics at the top of the display where they are visible without scrolling on a phone screen. This is documented behavior per the R10 owner's manual.

1. The hold-to-reorder gesture no longer works for all metrics — only some can be moved
2. Several new stroke/putting metrics (Target Downswing Time, Forward Stroke Length, Downswing Time) have been added to the driving range shot data screen and appear to be locked in fixed positions

The result is that my preferred ball-flight metrics (Carry Distance, Ball Speed, Club Speed, Launch Angle, etc.) are pushed below the fold and require scrolling to see after every shot. This significantly degrades the usability of the driving range mode for practice.

Please restore full metric reordering on the driving range shot data screen, and consider either removing the stroke metrics from the driving range display or making them reorderable like the others.

How to help/request with an update to a local course?

I appreciate that the design features on public courses can be limited. However, I’ve noticed that on my local courses, basic elements—such as bunkers, trees, and obvious elevation changes—are missing on a hole-by-hole basis.

Is there an option to improve these basic elements? How does Garmin build its maps initially? Does the process involve a combination of Google Maps and Google Earth to obtain elevation data?

Additionally, can I request to have a course refactored if I provide the necessary information? I am more than happy to help; I just need to understand the process. The members at our club would be highly appreciative.

HTH Bug/Feature Request - Water Hazards

OK, I'll start with the bug. When a ball is hit into the water it is often dropped within a foot of the shore, which is regularly unplayable.
At minimum, have it taken 2-3yards back, to avoid most of the steep slopes.

The feature request is to have an R&A rules based drop option. https://www.randa.org/rog/the-rules-of-golf/rule-17
At minimum, choose from stroke and distance OR back-on-the-line relief.
Additionally add the club length circle AND lateral and two club lengths relief option.

The current set up can unnessarily ruin a round, due to low flighted shots of an unknown slope gradient.

Garmin Approach R10 & The Stack integration - Android (Not Compatible Combination - iOS ONLY)

I received the email last week regarding the new The Stack System integration with the R10 for Speed Training. It came with the discount code to purchase The Stack speed trainer at a discount.

That would have been great news because earlier in the year The Stack system stated they were also now compatible with Android. So now have the opportunity to do speed training - NOT.

Did you forget to indicate in the email with The Stack System app announcement that it only works if you are iOS operating system? That would have been helpful before putting in the order for The Stack club. Really getting tired of companies ignoring proper Android integration when that's 70% of the World mobile userbase..

Also note that the R10, even if you have iOS is not yet compatible for The Stack app's full compliment of features like the new Wedging training program (to come later).

It is not exactly clear between Garmin and The Stack system websites that The Stack App, and R10 when using Android DOES NOT WORK (at this time).without some digging and back and forth with The Stack customer support. Although it took a couple days for them to get back to me about initial questions their customer service was great. Luckily they were able to cancel my order before shipping.

Currently with Android - the only way to use the Stack Club & The Stack App is by buying the Stack Radar as well as the Stack club.

Garmin R10 and e6 connection issues

I just purchased an R10 and I have the license/garmin free courses added in my e6 profile. I am unable to connect the R10 with the e6 software following the Garmin.com instructions.

1. the R10 is on and blinking green

2. I have paired it with the Garmin Golf app

3. I open "other simulators" and select e6 in the Garmin Golf app

4. I have e6 open and pick the correct license, and go to add the simulator. I have Garmin, Garmin R10 Direct, Garmin R50 and a couple other unrelated options.

5. I select Garmin and enter the Host and Port info in the Garmin Golf app, test connection fails every time.

6. e6 also appears to not be connected because the battery symbol is empty. I have used e6 with another sim and it always would either be a battery with an exclamation point (not connected), or a green battery with charge level displayed.

7. I have noticed when I am in the configure screen and select Garmin and click Accept, sometimes e6 flashes a pop-up saying Garmin R10 Direct disconnected - does anyone know if that means it was actually connected? I haven't tested hitting yet because it's 40 degrees outside currently.

Any tips? Thanks!

Club Path Appears Very Inaccurate with Indoor Setup

I’ve just purchased an R10 and have had some real issues with getting accurate data. I’ve been using both the Garmin app and Awesome Golf. Awesome Golf’s distances are at least somewhat close but the club path and face to path are way off which is giving me completely inaccurate shot shapes. Stats are attached.

I’ve got it set up in a garage. Garmin to ball is 1.8m and ball to screen is about 3m. Photos attached.

Software is up to date with 4.50.

Tried with and without garage door open and no change.

Just using normal balls. Not RCT type.

Any suggestions?

Different shot reading between HTH and the Garmin golf app

With my Garmin R10 FW 4.5 the garmin app reads my shot 15-20% shorter as on the Home Tee Hero App. This is on the same day at the same practice lesson, only switching between practicing and virtual golf with HTH.

Calibration and leveling are done on the R10.

Practice range ball flight trajectory on iphone

The practice range ball trajectory gets cropped in landscape view on the iPhone, so any decent height ball flight goes out of frame. Is there a way to scale it down?

Garmin R10 connection issue

FYI.....I just purchased an R10 and tried settling it up in the garage. Was having a real problem getting a solid connection. LED was constantly red flashing to green for a split second and then back to red. Wifi signal was very strong so I couldn't figure out what was going on. Something was interfering with the signal. Turns out the problem was the overhead florescent lights. The second I turned off the florescents....green flashing light. Turned on lights....back to standby mode.

Garmin R10 Update 4.50 Issues

I have the unit 7 feet behind the ball and 11.5 ft from the screen. There are no heaters, fans, radio interference items running. I have the entire floor carpeted, and the walls are covered in foam. The exact setup i have worked very well prior to the recent update. I know I have a slice and play it accordingly, however that shots are all going straight as an arrow right now or in a weird direction left. I haven't changed a thing with my setup, but the product no longer works correctly. Will you have a fix for this issue soon? What can I do to get my monthly subscription money back until you fix it?

Golf App - Color to club differentiation

I am new to the Approach R10 and the Garmin Golf app. After using it several times, I have noticed on the Driving Range Summary as well as the View Session data, the color representation for the different clubs are very close. Almost to the point where you cannot differentiate between the respective shots.

I noticed an enhancement was touched on about 4 years ago. Has this enhancement ever been released? If so, how do you adjust the colors?

Garmin r10 not reading accurate shots after 4.40 update

Ever since the firmware update to 4.40 all my right shots have read as straight shots with 0 side spin or launch direction on both e6 and awesome golf. Awesome golf developers put out an email that this was due to an issue with 4.40. Is there anyway to download 4.30 back to garmin r10

Garmin R10 Approach not detecting right direction on any hit

My Garmin R10 Approach launch monitor is not detecting or measuring any right hits. It constantly measures 0 on any and all hits to the right. Looks like the firmware just was updated to 4.40. Is this an issue?

Chipping from insige 40 yards to the green not working. All troubleshooting tips followed, R10 at 7 ft. from ball leveled with R10 above ball. Very frustrating when trying to enjoy Home Tee Hero playing courses. Is Garmin going to fix this bug?

New app or views in progress?

It would be great if the app finally used the entire screen of an iPad. And above all, if you could display all values in all views without having to scroll. For example, the display showing the position etc. is missing the clubspeed and much more. Are you working on it?

Bag Mapping & Other On-Course Features

Green/red light loop since HTH update

Ever since the software update to home tee hero I’m finding that r10 will work for about an hour but then starts into green/red loop and not reading shots. No changes to setup, seemed fine before. Was using on iPad Pro and switched to iPhone 15 - similar issues. Any ideas? I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing.

How to get shot data via web bluetooth API connector using GATT protocol?

Hi,

Learning about Bluetooth API connectivity and that Garmin R10 is a compatible BLE unit with the API, I was super keen to connect to the device, with the internet, to produce a real-time analytics and analysis board on the web.

I have been able to connect to the device, request service and characteristics UUIDs and even listen to them on a web browser, which is really exciting. HOWEVER, I can't seem to get data beyond a few static read points (device name, manufacturer, ID), and the listener for the notify stream that is the battery notification feed, I can't seem to get the raw strike data.

So far the device has offered two services

0XXXXXXf-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb (1 characteristics)

Can anyone assist? OR send me some help docs, or improve the exposure?
I have been working in the community on CSV upload dashboards, but think a real-time board directly from the web would allow easier updates AND be more interactive.

Hats off to the HomeTeeHero app team; they have reinvigorated the market AND I've been pushing my mates to grab a unit.

Bump and Run

In the old version before v4.30 I could bump and run to the green. Now I have to hit many very high chip shots (end up wasting balls at the driving range) for the R10 to recognize the shot when I am only less than 20 yards away from the green. Then the shot is usually too long.
