G12 round summary missing

My G12 recently stopped showing a summary when ending a round and wants to just power off. Is there a setting to re-enable the summary?

If your G12 no longer shows the round summary and instead powers off immediately when a round ends, this is usually caused by a settings change rather than a hardware fault. Check the device or game settings for an option related to end-of-round summary, match recap, or auto power off, as these can sometimes disable the summary screen. Also review any recent firmware or software updates, since updates may reset or alter default behaviors. Re-enabling the summary or turning off automatic shutdown should restore the normal end-of-round displa

We have fully released Software Version 5.10 for the Approach G12. This is now 100% live.

Changes since 5.00:

Fixed issue to ensure we use teebox, par and handicap data from downloaded auto course update files.
Fixed issue with front/back dots not showing on Green on main golf page.

CT10 Sensors being discontinued.

I just tried to purchase a full set of CT10 sensors on the Garmin site. There was no option to add the full set (14 sensors) to the cart, only the starter set. I opened a chat with Garmin, and was told that these are being discontinued. I asked about a newer version coming out, or another option, and was told that there is nothing planned. Does anybody have any further information? I ordered a set from Amazon, but these seem like a popular item to just discontinue without a replacement.

I have a Super Stroke grip on my putter, and I couldn't screw in the sensor. I ended up just drilling out the end. I forgot the diameter that ended up working, but I just started small and worked my way up until I found the one that worked.

Hi - I have an Odyssey Jailbird Mini and wanting to attach the Garmin CT10 Tag to it, but it won’t fully screw in, as it has the counterweight in the end of the grip. Any suggestions?

I updated to software version 5.00 last weekend. Went to play on Tuesday, got a "Cannot Unlock Maps" error

I have uninstalled and re-installed Garmin Express on my Windows laptop, and while Express shows my device connected, repeated attemps to "refresh" fail to sync my device

I did a reset to factory values using the 'settings' menu on the device, figured that I would re-load all maps like day 1, but still cannot get a 'refresh' to Express

I need help

Before i seeing this, I did a similar process. Let everything sit until evening. I had already deleted the device from Garmin Express.

Restarted my computer, opened Garmin Express, and re-connected my Approach G12. This time the 'spinning wheel' went around for about 30 seconds, recognized the device, and gave me the option to reload courses.

I drove to a course today and tested - working again.

Unlikely to ever know the cause, but it all is working. Thank you, Cody, for your assistance

While you Approach S12 is connected to your computer, open the GARMIN folder for the device storage drive on the watch > Then below all of the sub-folders you will see files listed. Delete the files starting with the letters "gmap" > Then close eject the watch from the computer and disconnect > Then power your Approach S12 off.

On your computer, open the Garmin Express program without the S12 connected > Then right-click where your S12 is showing on the device home screen in Express and select the "Remove from Express" > Then close out of the Express program.

Reconnect your Approach S12 to your computer > Open Garmin Express > Select "Add Device" > Sign in and complete the device setup screens to re-add your watch to the program > Then after the device setup you should see the course updates showing available to fresh install back to your watch.

After the install, close Express and eject your S12 from the computer > Test and see if the courses now load properly and you should no longer see any map alerts when the watch is powered on.

If you are still seeing issues with Express loading, restart your computer and upon reboot of the computer, log back in and the Express program should resume functioning as expected.

Contact Garmin Support if you need assistance further or if the concern continues.

The "Garmin" switched to the date screen after approx 10 min. However when I connect to Garmin Express now it has a green dot indicating that it is communicating with my device. However I get an infinite spinning wheel with the message "Refresh to check for updates"

I followed instructions from a similar device's forum, deleted the .img files suggested using my Windows laptop, then re-started the device. Now it locks up during the re-boot, never getting past the screen that says "Garmin". What next? Very frustrating

Course update frequency

We are a long-time Garmin family ... with numerous running/fitness/lifestyle watches enjoyed by all of us. I need to upgrade my golf watch and would love to get a S70 ... but instead I am considering switching to a completely different brand.

Why? Because Garmin's course update policy makes their watches only useful some of the time.

I have been told that Garmin provides course updates 'periodically' (3 times per year), in spring, summer and autumn. Not very good for those of us in the southern hemisphere who golf year-round (including all through the North American winter!). Why would I want to wait 6 months until the North American spring?

The value of a golf watch resides in the accuracy of the course information. Our course was updated more than 3 months ago ... and I am still waiting for Garmin to reflect the changes. Quite disappointing.

My question: when will Garmin increase the frequency of its course updates??

Thanks Cody. I appreciate. The course has been incorrect since July 20th (coming up to 5 months ago!!) - so it would be great if you could provide an estimate for WHEN it will be updated. Also, are you able to shed light on why things have taken so long??? (I'm assuming this is not normal.)

Update as of January 8th, 2025:

Garmin is in the process of reviewing the recent changes released earlier in December 2024, after users reporting the course map is still needing updates for the North Ryde.

We apologize about the inconvenience while the par values for a few holes on the back 9 are in process of getting corrected. As more information becomes available, I will post here and notify users that have reported the concern.

Cody, a number of us here at North Ryde have re-loaded the most current Pacific map (v6.60) via Garmin Express & home PC, and the course is STILL incorrect. This issue has not been resolved! Can you help?

The course update for North Ryde has been addressed already. The update for the course with the corrections will be reflected on your device once you install the course map updates through Garmin Express on a home computer.

Just to clarify on course map update frequency, there is no set scheduled amount of course map updates released throughout the year. They are not pre-scheduled, and are released on an as-needed basis per the corrections reported.

Thanks Cody. Unfortunately, my golf mate and I seem to be receiving conflicting information from Garmin US and Garmin Australia re: frequency of updates. We have also received less than inspiring responses to the course report forms we have each previously submitted. We would really be keen to better understand the situation, including whether or not our course has met their obligations in providing Garmin with the required update information. (They tell us they have.) The course is North Ryde GC. NSW. Australia.
