  • OBD2 / OBD-II data on a FIT file

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking to convert a CSV file with OBD-II data into a Garmin FIT file format. I'm looking to use the FIT file to overlay data over my video in Garmin Virb Edit. My CSV file has data like engine RPM, vehicle speed, throttle position(%), etc.

Are there any tools out there to do this? Or does anyone know where I could find a sample FIT file with OBD-II data inside? I could try converting it myself.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi,
I got tons of fit-files with OBD II data included. I can send some to you, when I back at home.
There is an SDK, which you can (should) use to do that. It reads and writes fit-files and can convert them into csv. I guess it should be easy to enhance that to what you need.
    You can download it here:

Just found one file on my pc.

    Good luck!

      Hi HerrRiebmann,

Great advice. I think with the material you've suggested, I should have good place to start. Thanks for sharing :-)

      Cheers,
