  • Having trouble importing GPX file into Nuvi 2595

    Good morning.
I have a Nuvi 2595 and I'm trying to Import a GPX file consisting of a number of Waypoints into Basecamp. But it's stopping on an error.
GPS Babel says that the error is on this line <ogr:Lat>27.8918251</ogr:Lat> , ...with this error .....GPX Read error: "Namespace prefix 'ogr' not declared"

    Here is the file (contents)
I'm wondering if someone familiar with Garmin Nuvi 2595 can see the problem. I have successfully imported other GPX files with this exact same structure with no problems.
    Thanks,
    Randy

Where did the gpx file come from? If BC can't import it then it's not following the approved gpx file structure.
Currently own Drive 50LMT-D, Nuvi 2508LMT-D, Nuvi 1490LMT, Nuvi 1310, Montana 650T, Etrex 20, and use Basecamp, OSM mapping
Previously owned Etrex Legend H, Mio Navman and used Mapsource
(please note that I am not employed by Garmin, but am a long term user of Garmin software and hardware)

      You're probably right. lol

I just thought that maybe someone very familiar with these types of files might see the problem right off the bat and give me a bit of help. :-)

No worries. Thanks much just the same.

I have found Basecamp to be a little finicky with GPX files from other sources. Loading a Basecamp-rejected file into GpsBabel and resaving it will usually fix the problem and it will import into Basecamp after that.
