    Training Center 3.1.0.3 Public Beta

    GTC 3.1.0.2 Public Beta.png

    What's New:

    - History Auto Grouping:
Year/Month and Year/Week auto-generated folders have been added. The week folders' start date is determined by your System Preferences. If you change the first day of the week, relaunch GTC and the folders will be re-generated.

    -User Profile:
We have made many changes under the hood to User Profile. We have added validation and stricter rules in order to be able to round-trip User profile with FIT devices (ie Edge 500, Forerunner 110).

    - Power support:
User Profile now supports Power Zones and FTP for the Biking Sport.
Zones can now be shown on the Power graph.
Workouts can be created with Power Targets and Durations. Note: This is not supported by all devices. See the Known issues section below.

    - Send activities to Garmin Connect:
This feature provides an easy way to send an activity in Training Center to a Garmin Connect account. A Garmin Connect account is required. Select any activity or activity folder (history) in Training Center and use the “File...Send to Garmin Connect...” menu item to upload to a Garmin Connect account. If Training Center has not been authorized to upload activities to a Garmin Connect account, an embedded browser will guide the user through the authorization process.

    - New export formats:

Activities: Comma Separated and Tab-delimited text
    Scheduled Workouts:iCal

    Known Issues:

    The beta is English-only.

Power workouts are not supported by all devices.
    - Edge 500: Compatible with all of the new User profile and workout features.

    - Edge 705: Will take the User Profile options and Workouts with "Maintain" (Target) power steps as of firmware 3.20. Workouts with "Go Until" (Duration) power steps are not supported by TCX and therefore are not supported on the Edge 705. These will appear as default "Until Lap button is pressed" step.

    - System Requirements:

Intel Processor, Mac OS X 10.5 or newer.

Thank you SOOOOO much!!! Thanks for putting the ability to create power based workouts into GTC!

I downloaded the program, it updated my file and opened just fine. From there I was able to create several power-based interval workout and upload it just fine to my Edge 500-no problems whatsoever!!! I then turned on my Edge 500 unit and went to the workout: everything (titles, zones, times, power ranges, etc) showed up perfectly and matched what is on my computer-flawless!

Excellent work-a big thumbs up. THANK YOU for your patience and efforts to add this functionality to GTC-Mac. I FINALLY have a way to create / edit power based workouts from my Mac-no more messing around with trying to get SportTracks running on VMware Fusion (which doesn't connect right for me because I'm running Win2k VMware...).

Thanks SOOOO much for your efforts and responsiveness!

Let the application report the crash the next time you launch it and refer to this forum post (and your forum user name) with a link so that we can investigate the issue with your help.

It appears the common thread is that folks crashing are running in non-english languages. Try deleting the Garmin Training Center.app bundle and then re-installing. Please post if this resolves the problems.

The crash is apparently due to ActivityDetailView.nib. I replace the nib by the English.lproj version of the nib, and everything run fine, in french (except for the Activity Detail view).

The beta is English only. There should be no other language lproj folders other than English or things will not work properly. Any other configuration is strictly not supported and likely to crash as key changes have been made to almost all nibs.

Deleting the newly installed program an re-installing it, solved the issue for me too and GRC runs now under a german MacOS 10.6.2 in english.

                      Thanks Garmin!
                      Greetings from

3.1.0.3 Public Beta has just been released to address problems some users had when running 3.1.0.2 on non-English Macs.

My 3.1.0.2 on a non-English Mac does not find the update with the auto-update enabled.
Found the download link to 3.1.0.3 update @ the top of this thread

The download page for 3.1.0.3 is the same as for 3.1.0.2.

These betas are not available through auto-update.

Great to see the improvements! Will the final version be Intel-only also or will it be universal binary? I would prefer ub, because I still use my Powerbook when on the road.
