  • Forerunner 35 GPS - slow to start for running, does not work for cycling

I bought my FR 35 in July and have used it for 3 hiking, 3 running and 4 cycling activities. I expected the GPS to work for all activities, but so far I have not been able to get it to work for my cycling. I've read that it can take up to a few minutes for the GPS to locate satellites, which explains why I see WAIT when I start my run, but it always eventually works for running and shows the map in my history. But for cycling, I've never seen the WAIT message, and all of my 4 cycling activities to date do not show any GPS data in history. Any tips on how to get this working for cycling?

There's a setting for it to be indoor or outdoor cycling and indoor doesn't use GPS. If you go to cycling, click options and you should see the toggle to outdoor cycling .I had to learn that the hard way too.
