  • Favorite Runs/Hikes

    Lake Fenwick Park, Kent WA

    http://connect.garmin.com/activity/9444206

Close in to the city, this is a little 3 mile forest oasis south of Seattle

It's the pacific northwest, so hills are to be expected

I do use the Garmin 305 for mile marking, and speed too, but mostly as a heart monitor

Most of the walk/run is dense forest, with the exception of the boardwalk, the paths are dirt - maintained occasionally, so no ruts or roots, it's easy to concentrate on your cadence. With the added fun of elevation change it really works aerobically while strengthening the legs. The environment maintains a much cooler temp on hot days and the scenery is much better than running around a track.

Gorgeous! Those stairs look familiar. Did you post that before?

It was originally posted on the MB forums. I think it's great that it was posted here, too.

      Very nice training trail!

Well, I don't usually run or hike here (I ride my horse), but this is one of my favorite trails along the Natchez Trace Parkway. It is open to hikers and runners.

My endurance horse, Tanna, grabbing a snack along the trail.

Now I really need to get out of this office. Appalachian Trail, here I come.
