  • Passively record Zwift session

So am trying to record my Zwift sessions with the 1030 but it does not seem to want to record. The goal is to just have the 1030 record everything but let Zwift control the KICKR. I want to capture the cycling dynamics because I am a dork and want to see it.

I have my Vector 3 connected, via Bluetooth, to my Apple TV along with my KICKR.
The 1030 has the V3, KICKR, and HRM-Tri via ANT+
I start Zwifting and start the "Indoor" training on the 1030 but it does not register anything.

    \What am I missing?

I do the same Zwift via ATV and Garmin recording at the same time. I have WattBike Atom and HRM-Tri. Is the Garmin picking up the sensors? Is it definitely picking up ANT+ and not trying to link to Bluetooth?

Works for me with my Direto. You need a speed sensor i would expect. Is your Kickr registered to send speed and are you seeing it during a workout on the 1030?

I have a speed/cadence sensor on my Madone. I am going to make sure tonight that the 1030 is, in fact, connected to what I think it should be.

If you have the current generation speed+cadence sensors, which has been out for several years, they really are two separate sensors sold in a bundle. On your Edge make sure both Speed and Cadence are connecting. Also make sure Auto-Pause is OFF on the Edge - it should be by default in the Indoor activity profile but it is worth checking.

Make sure, your Edge 1030 is not connected as trainer (ANT+ FEC) - this does ZWIFT.
Simply ride your KICKR and let the Edge 1030 search for sensors: Speed, Cadence (maybe Speed/Cad-Combo) and Power from the KICKR should be found as sensors.

I ended up not trying it last night but today I will. My plan will be it connect the Bontrager Speed/Cadence sensor and the Vector 3 to get my power, cycling dynamics, speed, cadence to the edge 1030 and see how that goes.

There's no reason this shouldn't work if you really are just using Ant+ sensors with your 1030. Use Mcinner's suggestion of searching for sensors once Zwift is connected to the trainer.

So I tried and tried and tried and it didnt work. Well, everything worked except speed. At first I thought it was because there was nothing triggering my speed/cadence sensor but, as it turns out, my KICKR was connected to my 1030 though bluetooth and I didnt notice. I will try again tonight and report back so hopefully it will save someone else this headache.

Does anyone know if there is a way to just combine the FIT files or just take the information I want from the 1030 and add it to the Zwift FIT file?
