Is there a simple example of a sync app?

I am new to the Connect IQ SDK and would like to create an application that synchronizes the recorded FIT files from an EDGE 530 (integrated WIFI) with my own web service via WIFI. Is there a simple example of how to do this?

Or is it possible to change the target URL for the synchronization so that I can rebuild GARMIN's WEB API on my own server?

You're talking FW and not CIQ turning it on, and in the case of BLE, you're talking low level BLE and not what's used to sync.

Neither is possible. What you can do is write an app for your pc/mac so you can connect the edge and grab the fit files that way.

I'd be okay with that, too. What protocol can I use to connect to the EDGE to access the FIT files?

They are just files that you can copy

But copying files using a WiFI connection requires a kind of tcp protocol like e.g. WEBDAV.

And how does the Strava App upload the data to Strava.

You use a cable to connect the edge to your pc/mac. Then you can just access the files on the edge.

That's how I do it now. The idea was to upload the data using a WIFI connection.

Which, as I said, is not possible. Wifi can be used to sync with Garmin Connect, but that's it.

Is there a documented API for accessing GARMIN Connect? In this case I could retrieve the files from there.

There's a Garmin Connect API but it's only available on a limited basis, and in the past cost $5k US.

The connect API is available and you have to apply for access to it. Last year it got bundled with the health APIs and they removed the cost, but you still have to apply and outline your plans in order to be approved.
