I recently purchased the Garmin 305. I know this is no good in the water. I love it for my runs and bike though.

My question is about the heart rate monitor that came with it.

If I put this on, under my wet suit. Will it survive the swim.
Or if I swim with out a wet suit, will it survive the swim.

I would like to wear it in the water so it is already on when i get out of the water on my way to the bike and run, so i dont lose time in transition fumbling with a heart monitor.

I have searched garmins forums and my manual and can not find any information as to the water resistance of the heart rate monitor.

Once again my question is not about the watch, but the heart rate monitor. And how much water it can take either under a wet suit or not. so when i just on the bike i al ready have it on.

Thanks for any information.

Yes, you can do this. I've done worn the HRM with and without a wetsuit, in open water and in the pool.
