One can set alarms on

Heart rate
Calories
...

but not on speed km/h

I would like to train on 12km/h
and every time, I go below that speed the 310xt sounds an alarm

I know there is digital trainer but then you have to look every time on your 310XT

May be something for next firmware update?

I'm not sure why the speed alert was left out of the 310. You can suggest having it added back by contacting Garmin Support (http://www.garmin.com/support).

In the meantime, you can try using a custom workout. Then the watch will alert you when your average speed/pace goes out of the range you set for each step.

i've already done that 40 days ago but .. not taken seriously at 2.60 upgrade.
Strange enough though not to feature speed alarm in 310XT as this was a standard in previous bike models like Edge 305

Contacting support to make your request known is the best you can do. It may not make it in a future release, but if people didn't ask, it definitely wouldn't happen.

You could try to create a custom workout.

Create a step with duration open and in the target field you can select speed.
Below target you can enter a goal value.

Since I don't have my 310 with me this time I'm not sure which goal is available, but I hope it's something usable.
