Yes! Please provide an update to take the Home Tee Hero to the next level. I know quite a few fellow golfers that are holding back from purchasing the R50 because it only allows stroke play. Please add scramble play and other formats. Thanks!!

Been loving the garmin r50. Really looking forward to a scramble option on Home T Hero. There are many times my friends and I play a scamble on the course. Definitely days we have had some bad rounds. We decide to get out of our heads and play a 2 man vrs 2man scramble. Any idea when it will be updated with a scramble option ?

Really liking the new Home Tee Hero app with my R10. However my older phone can get quite hot and high battery consumption while streaming to TV/ and/ or charging during use. Therefore just purchased a flagship Samsung tablet in order to play on a bigger screen for better / larger interface and stunned that it is not available for download in Google Playstore. The system is way beyond the minimum system requirements so this makes no sense to me.

Are you planning Android tablet support shortly, or do I have to contemplate returning an expensive paperweight because of this massive oversight.

I have a OnePlus open and I'm guessing it shows up as a tablet in Google play so I'm unable to download the app. This needs to be fixed

I don’t like to be rude, but didn’t feel like anyone was getting a real response from Garmin on this issue. Previous posts only telling us to submit to an ideas page fell short of the customer service I typically expect from Garmin.

This is exactly what i wanted to hear, that it’s a priority to get fixed. Thank you for the response.

I believe In the on course practice you have a ball pick up tool, utilize a version of that where you can drop along the reverse path of the last shot as it entered the hazard. Just a thought.

Along with that, can we add the helicopter fly-over action that is in practice mode to course play. So when someone walks out of the room during sim play and misses the fly over you can replay it at any time.

Although we don't have a timeline for a fix to this point, this is a high priority issue that we are actively investigating for a viable fix. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding while we work to improve this feature. I have added all of you currently on this thread to the investigation ticket.

Current viable "work-arounds": whether in Weekly Tournament or a general HTH round, the best option is to move your aimpoint to a 'safer' landing zone and take a high lofted club and chip/hit it out that way.

Sidenote: in a general HTH round, you can utilize the mulligan feature to re-hit either the original shot that got the ball in this situation, or the shot after the ball has been dropped in one of these tougher situations.

Can't believe this program even got released with this issue, and even more unbelievable it's taking this long to fix. Does Garmin even have golfers testing this program?

Was excited to see the new home tee hero support for R10. Been playing the old home tee hero on my tablet and was thinking of upgrading my launch monitor to one with better graphics software. Maybe a Rapsodo or Square Golf. The fact that I can only use my phone (a device with half the performance of my tablet) well it's by far the largest fumble and single handedly has helped me to decide to walk away from garmin golf products in general. The response from garmin in places like this forum as you will see below. Garbage.

My r50 is arriving tomorrow, pretty excited to put together my simulator. Scramble mode is a great idea, I always wondered what I would do on my own ball given 4 shots, but never could do that on a real course! LOL Seems like an easy programming task 🙂

...our Garmin Approach R50 recently started overlapping the individual hole scores and the cumulative round scores on the screen that appears after you get the par/birdie/bogey screen... these scores only appear when you have more than one player playing the course... after the last player hits, it pops up a screen for a few seconds with each players individual score on the hole just played, along with each player's cumulative score for the round... it used to have them spaced so you could see both, now they sit right on top of each other so you have a hard time reading either... this happened right after the latest March 2026 update... if you always play a round by yourself, you never see this screen with your cumulative score, which is a separate issue... it would be nice to see this hole score and cumulative score even if you are playing a round by yourself...

Samsung Tablet is "incompatible" since New update

The “Home Tee Hero” app had been running smoothly and without any issues on my Samsung tablet since the major update three weeks ago. It was a pleasure to play with. Since the latest program changes, however, Home Tee Hero is no longer listed on Google Play because the app is supposedly no longer compatible with my device.

If there is no solution, I will be canceling my Home Tee Hero subscription.

Use Samsung Smart Switch on phone, to transfer a single app - Home Tee Hero - to the Samsung tablet via cable or wireless (you have to unselect everything else first). This will get Home Tee Hero to your Samsung tablet without downloading and installing a third party .apk file.

Home Tee Hero is still not in Play Store for the tablet officially, but this worked.

This still is not fixed. Had to hit a 7 wood that normally goes 200+ yds to clear a 135yd water hazard playing Augusta this weekend. That's ridiculous - as per the request submitted the following to the "ideas" link below. If others have different thoughts please submit.

Home Tee Hero app - Incorrect ball drop placement after hitting into water hazard. Please fix ball drop location to match rules of golf. I.e not on downslope 2 inches from waters edge (or in water for that matter). You should not have to hit a 7 wood that normally goes 200+ yards to cover a water hazard of only 135 yds... Technical solution - Ball drop should be on line that ball entered hazard, and away from the hazard. A ball pickup indicator, and a "choose drop location" along the flight path would be correct this.

I hit the ball OB at Pebble Beach on the weekly tournament and it made my take my next shot from behind a boulder on the bottom of the cliff...There needs to be an option to select a drop location on the line of your previous shot. It took 3 shots to get back in play after the penalty stroke.

I have a friend that uses Awesome golf.

I just got Home Tee Hero working on my S10+ tablet using Samsung Smart Switch ti transfer the single HTH app from my phone. See the other post just updated tonight regarding HTH app for tablet. Worked after I managed to get R10 to connect. That works for Samsung devices at least

Agreed Every water drop, drops the ball on edge or even in water. Need to hit a tleast 3 clubs further than the sidtance would calculate to not hit ball straight down back into water. Its an almost automatic 10 steokes on these drops.

Rules of golf allow a drop back along the line the ball entered the hazard, or even let us re hit of tee if that was where ball started from.

A proper drop should be back a few yards in flat ground where one can properly hit from, or a proper drop zone.

I will note hat when I streamed from the tablet to a chromecast on a TV, due to different aspect ratio the TV did have black bars left and right ends, but showed everything the screen on the tablet displayed, so no lost image. When I do same from my Samsung phone there were no black bars that I recall as aspect ratio of TV and phone seemed to match? May have to check that..

Aspect ratio of my Samsung Note 9 phone (8 yr old) is 18.5:9. Aspect ratio of TV is 16:9. Aspect ratio of my new S10+ tablet is 16:10. Interestingly enough my new S26 Ultra phone arriving shortly will be 19.5:9. Starting to think that the TV may be cutting off portions of cast screen from phone to make that work

The tablet will actually be closer to being proper aspect ratio for a projector or TV setup more than the phones are, yet Garmin supports the phone before tablet for the sim app. That is backwards but obviously due to making the original Garmin Golf app for real course and range use on mobile platform first, or would think so.

Thank you for posting this. I tried Samsung Smart Switch tonight and once I figured out how to transfer only a single app (vs my entire phone like I was setting up a new one) it took about 10 minutes to transfer Home Tee Hero through wireless. Launched the app on Samsung S10+ tablet but could not get R10 to connect in app even though Bluetooth in tablet setting was paired..

As I had it working with Garmin Golf previously (.apk download) I opened that and i connected there. Clicked HTH section in Garmin Golf and it opened Home Tee Hero app and was connected there too. Used the "on course practice" for a bit. Will try the weekly tourney tomorrow. Hoping next time it will connect to the R10 directly and not have to go through Garmin Golf app first, but it works regardless. Much Appreciated.

There is a work around. Since the app can be installed on a Samsung phone, I just used Samsung switch and installed hth from my phone to tablet bypassing the Google Store. Seems to work fine. This isn't a minimum requirement issue, obviously its a garmin software issue, hopefully they come out with a fix.
