"Audio prompt in progress" message keeps popping up on my Android phone screen. This occurs while I'm on email, Facebook, etc. It pops up on everything and when I touch screen it either goes away or it takes me directly to a Garmin screen

I have an S2 Approach. It is roughly 7 years old. I can only get about 11 holes in and the battery is drained. I have performed all the recommended maintenance suggested. Nothing seems to help. Replacing the battery swwms to be a bit involved and I don't have soldering capability. Any suggestions?

Messenger app installed in German. How do I change it to English!?! My phone was bought and has only ever been in the US and set to English. I downloaded from Google Play and the app description was in English.

Is that just a really bad design or a one time blip?

Was in the moutains and wanted to send my spouse a message via inReach that I would be home much later than expected. Launched the Android messenger app and it asked me to conform my cell phone # via SMS. Which is is exactly the wrong time when I am out of cell phone range. Makes inReach texting kind of pointless. (Don't know if SOS texting would have required it too ;-)

Are there any best practices to avoid this in the future? Always send a message before I rely on inReach?

Hi,

I've been having this problem since I've bought inReach Mini 2 in 2023. I haven't used it much in the last year, but now my son and I will and would like to get to the bottom of it.

The issue is that check-in messages never arrive to a specific number. In our family we have 3 numbers: my main one (let's say number A) is the one I've registered the device with. Then there are my son's one (let's say B) and my partner's (number C). No matter what I do the check-in messages never arrive at number A. But they consistently arrive at numbers B and C. I have tried manually entering number A, adding it from the system numbers (Messenger on Android),.. nothing seems to help. The number has been in use for over three decades, there are no blocks by the telecom operator (verified in person at their office), all the numbers are from the same operator,...

The strange thing is that if I send a message (not check-in), but a typed message to the same number goes through. I can also add my email address and it gets delivered.

So out of all the options the only one that is not working and never has is sending a check-in message to my main number. The main issue is that my son will now be starting to ride a motorcycle, but I cannot receive check-in messages from the device. When my son starts riding, I will have him send a check-in message every once in a while. But as of now I cannot receive it.

Has anyone encountered anything similar?

In my inreach messenger app the device icon is red with an ! mark on it. It says on the screen that it is connected but nther than a Suspend button there is nothing else on the screen

Facebook Messenger not replying from my watch

I have a Garmin 4S & I used to be able to reply to Messenger messages from my watch. When I do it now they say "sent", but when I check my phone they have not been. Is this a fault or has something changed from my setup and needs amending?

Hi there,

I bought Garmin InReach Mini 2 in the single official shop in Yerevan, Armenia. I downloaded Garmin Messenger app for Android. I opened it and on the page 'Verify Your Phone Number' when I input my armenian number starting from +374 i see red text saying "The phone number provided is not currently in a supported network". I presume this makes your device an unusable piece of brick for me, right? And I better return it fast since it can't provide any service in the county i live in?

Hi,

I have a Samsung S23+ running v14 with 2 lines in it , I downloaded the Messenger app & have been trying to verify it with no luck , I tried with my UAE number while in the UAE & with my Egyptian number while in Egypt both failed , I even tried my wife's phone with Egyptian no in Egypt same problem.

I just purchased InReach Messenger Plus & it seems until my mobile app works nothing else will

I have tried the various steps on this forum but doesn't seem to help any idea how to fix this or other routes to getting the app working ?

I always have good mobile & Wi-Fi signals while trying

Garmin Messenger e2e encryption

Since we have lot of untrusted chat messengers whose are not using e2e like Facebook I would like to ask how are messages transported and stored, especially if Garmin Messenger used any e2e encryption like a Signal, Telegram etc ;)

Because I was not able to find this information publicly.

However, I will return to my permanent residency in Spain next month and the US phone number will not exist anymore. Issue with Country Code Selection in Garmin Messenger Android App

After installing the app, I proceeded to the sign-in stage where it required my phone number. However, I faced an issue with the country code selection. The app presents a list of country codes to choose from, but I noticed that the China country code (+86) is not included. This omission prevents me from completing the sign-in process and effectively using the app.

Interestingly, I found that the Apple version of the app does not have this issue and includes the China country code.

Using Messenger Weather on an ocean transit

Hi Team,

Recently I used a garmin messenger blue toothed to a pixel 8 running the Android messenger app. This is a first impressions kinda post but there are some fairly serious comments here that really need to be addressed.

1/ The product is designed to be used without the internet - why can you only enter a weather location using on-line google maps? why doesn't it switch to an offline google map when there is one available - just like the google maps applictation? in the middle of the tasman sea google maps was working fine using the offline map - garmn was dead in the water. When you are sailing you don't know your future location/time - you are at the will of the sea - setting up a dozen random locations before you leave is counterintuitive.
*** Messenger App needs to work with google offline maps for weather locations.
and/or allow manual entry of Lat/Lon of a future location for a weather request

2/ When you request weather for "My Location" there is no indication of the Lat/Lon of the location requested - then when you have moved to another "My Location" and refresh you can't tell if the weather is for where you are now or where you were then?
*** My location weather needs to display the Lat/Lon of the location for which the weather is applicable.

3/ When you are relying on messenger to provide weather data at sea you really need to know what weather model they are using - so this can be matched to the weather model that was used for the original routing.
*** Garmin to publish the weather model source (would be different for different regions)

4/ The weather forecast provided was highly (dangerously) innaccurate - I would like a refund - that was the worst $1.50 I have ever spent - a forecast of 14kn/18kn gusts with 0kn current was actually 28kn/+42kn sustained gusts and 2kn of current, OK for us on a well prepared yacht, but still a surprise!
*** Garmin needs to check their sources - this was not a reasonable weather prediction - it was so wrong I don't think the "My Location" was correct.

other than that the txt functions worked a treat - I'm still glad I have one.

I am thinking of buying the Garmin Messenger with an annual subscription together with my wife. Can I change the messenger between two users (two phone numbers) with the same gamin subscription?

The Garmin Messenger app won't verify my phone number on my Samsung A73 5G mobile.

Hello. I have a Garmin Instinct 2 dezl. When I get notifications, I can reply to SMS and Whatsupp. But when I reply to a message from FACEBOOK Messenger, even though the watch shows that the message has been sent, it is not actually happening. Can someone help me? My friends can answer me no. I have permission to Messenger app in Garmin connect. Słuchaj I don't know what's wrong.
