I played Tuesday this week with the 25.11 update on my Epix Pro 42mm. Saved the round without the device restarting. The round sync'ed fine with the app (iOS26.2.1) and I am able to view the scorecard and....yes Shot Maps!

The Epix Update 25.11 is released which includes

Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when saving a Golf activity.

I haven't played a round since updating so I'm not sure if everything is resolved yet but I'd recommend updating and letting us know if it fixes the issue!

I do not get option to download or Syn CourseView Maps for Africa (I am in South Africa). The shot map functionality used to work fine.

I am now on the EPIX Gen 2 latest update - and experience the same error. When looking at the Map details in Garmin Express - I only see golf maps for the default region - USA. Is there a way to get it for South Africa?

I am experiencing the same problem. (I am from South Africa). The watch seems to reboot when attemting to save a game, and does not save the shot map. I have connected to Garmin Express yesterday (21 Jan 2026) and did an update on everything i could find, and rebooted the watch. Played thereafter and problem persists.

Another round played and no change since last time.

i also have map updates that keep on crashing over wifi. It’s more related to the regions I play in, but it’s not acceptable that the basic functions are not working as expected.

looking into Garmin golf app I have noted that up-and-downs are not properly accounted for. Thank you Garmin, another reason to switch to Arcoss.

I played the first round of the year and had a restart at the end, losing all the shot maps.
Really looking forward to an urgent bug fix.

I played 18 on this past Saturday, and 9 holes on Sunday. Both recorded score and had shots on the map. The only way I could get it to work was by disabling activity tracking. It won't count the round as an activity, but you will get shot metrics and can see your shots from the round on the map.

I haven't played since 23.48 came out but, given the release notes, I wasn't optimistic that the bug fix needed for shot maps was going to be in there.

However there is a beta release going on now (25.03) that looks like it may be our joy-factor...long list of change log items that includes "Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when saving a Golf activity."

Fingers crossed that it gets through the beta process successfully and soon.

I had another round crash. Running latest software 23.48

the round crashed and I lost both the score and maps. Thank you Garmin. The lack of reliability and support, together with the poor app features, is making Arcos on an Apple Watch seem like a much better choice…

This has been going on quite a long time now. @Garmin - what is the fix? I bought the Epix Pro Gen 2 42mm primarily for golf, but also use it for other activity tracking. Overall very happy, but very unhappy that shot maps no longer work. I can echo the same behavior. Play 18, End Round, Save...watch restarts. Scorecard syncs to phone app, but shot maps do not.

and after 2 magical rounds where I got shot maps using the above steps, I now no longer get shot maps. So frustrating to get teased and then it is taken away. Frankly I am even afraid of upgrading to the Fenix 8Pro for fear that the problem is, or will eventually, exist there.

Garmin-Cody Garmin-Cody, I don't find 'turning off activity tracker' as a viable 'work around' as chat customer service has responded to me. I paid for and have been using both these features simultaneously for years...this is a bug that either needs to be prioritized [we all paid for the feature] or a release rollback needs to be enabled.

The same thing keeps on happening to me too. Maps not saving only scores. Watch restarts after end of round and saves only scores.

I have latest maps and watch software.

Update to Map Version 25.30 did not resolve the issue. Still the same: after saving the round, Epix reboots. Have to start a new round to get prompted that another round is already on progress and need to end and save that round to get the scorecard. No Shot map.

bummer. The only difference I see between your steps and mine is that I, while I do open the Garmin Golf app prior to starting the round on my Fenix 7s, I do not start or resume a round in the Garmin Golf app. However, prior to heading to the course, reinstalling maps, and soft rebooting my watch, I do ensure that neither my watch nor the Garmin Golf app 'thinks' a round from a previous day is still in play. If there is one still 'running', I end that round. Sorry to hear that you didn't get shot maps and that the bug is not completely resolved.

I just updated to maps version 25.30 on my epix pro gen 2 and played a round today. I also downloaded the course on the Garmin Golf app before starting the round. I started the round from my watch and then resumed the round on my Garmin Golf app. At the end of the round, when I hit save on the watch, the watch restarted. No shot maps :(

Just updated maps to version 25.30 via Garmin Express. For some reason the Map Manager in my Epix continues to have “Update Available” for each of the 3 Golf Maps, even though they are all on the latest (25.30) version. Playing a round tomorrow - fingers crossed. Will report back here

Update: I have had 2 successful rounds of golf that produced shotmaps. Both times I reinstalled maps and did a soft reset of my Fenix 72 prior to the round and I still have Activity Tracking turned on. Not sure if the reinstall/reboot is solving the issue or if a recent map update resolved the issue and I no longer need to take those pre-round steps but I am quite happy to get my data to show up..

I don't want to jinx it, but yesterday I played and my Fenix 7s successfully generated shot maps. I did reinstall maps and do a soft reset prior to playing so I am not sure if that was needed or not but I was quite jazzed to have my stats back

I had the same failure with my Fenix 7 Solar..
I've played the last 3 days and the Fenix is now working, means i do have the golf shot map:-)
So this are good news.

Which means they don't go into training load/readiness, more of the premium features of the 1000 dollar watch. Woof Garmin

That is correct. It isn’t marked as an activity. So no heart rate, average speed, etc. Your steps still get added to your total for the day, they just aren’t separated into an activity.
