I have a problem.

When I create a collection in the Garmin Explore web app and add some waypoints and tracks to it, I cannot see that collection at all in the Garmin Explore Android app.

When I create a collection in the Garmin Explore Android app, it does not appear in the web app either.

I have tried reloading, signing out and back in, and syncing, but there is no change.

How can I sync web and android app?

When will syncing with Forerunner watches happen (I have the Forerunner 170)

I know this is not strictly a support question that can be answered here but I'm wanting to raise awareness of this as it is a useful feature for transferring courses from maps to my watch. When hiking (or even running and cycling) it is also useful to be able to see the trail as it is walked.

I know that there are alternatives and workarounds but wonder if others feel this is important.

Of course this would apply to the phone app just as much as the web.

The Forerunner 170 only works with the Connect app, not with the Explore app (and therefore Explore web). So if you're having trouble syncing from the Connect app, check in the appropriate forum.

In the future, you can just hide the Activities by clicking on the eyeball.

I've deleted a lot of activities in Garmin Explore (I thought they were cluttering things up) but would now like to restore them. Is this possible from Garmin Connect - all my data is still there.

Maybe there is a way to reset the Garmin Explore app/account so that it starts again and syncs all my historic data?

You may still be able to recover them if the activities are still stored on your device or visible in Garmin Connect. A manual re-sync or exporting/importing the .fit files could help. Unfortunately, Garmin Explore and Garmin Connect don’t always sync deleted data properly between ecosystems.

Thanks. I hadn't been aware of this. It's a curious thing, given the web site can detect location.

In my case, the location wasn't somewhere I have been with a device and in fact is on an island in Croatia I haven't been to for ten years.

When I click the icon to show my location on the map, it shows me on an island in Croatia instead of in a city in the UK.

Restarting doesn't seem to help.

Google maps is showing my location accurately.

All cookies have been allowed.

Suggestions please?

DJGShef Unlike google maps, the Explore website will only update the default location with the last location that was updated by a compatible paired device. So for example, if you were using a paired InReach device with the Explore app or website, the default location will be the last location the InReach updated its location, either with a tracking point, message, or location request.

Thank you but my issue is with Garmin Explore Web. As I said, location is working for Google maps.

Hello DJGShef You will want to ensure your Location services are enabled on your phone. There are also a couple settings within the Explore app you will want toggled on: Prefer Device Location and Sync Current activity. I am new to the explore interface. i used Osmand before but would like to get into the garmin

When i add a waypoint on the map, web and app version, i need to first save the waypoint before i can add it to a collection. Why is that, it seems like double the work.

And in the app interface i can add a discription, which i cannot on the web interface. So for completing 1 waypoint i need to do 3 things on 2 devices. I i-like to use the web because it is eaier to get coordinates from google maps for my waypoints.

I still see an old activity on explorer? Why, it is not in my timeframe. I also would like to add new plannend activities so that people who follow me can see the whole course. I have an inreach mini device. I did it in the pas, but it is so complex that it always takes me hours to find it. Any help would be great.

You'll need to export that data from Connect and import it back to Explore.

Try the Garmin Connect site. top right hand side next to the profile is "devices & sync status".

Another reason may be (I'm dealing with this now, trying to remove an inreach from explore) is the the device is associated with a professional account and to remove it completly you need to get in contact with Garmin support specifically for professional accounts and they remove it (to avoid removing a device that could potentailly be in the field and actively needed). Very fustrating when you're the admin and have the device sitting with you. This might just be for PLB devices and not watches as you're asking.

I have my Inreach and my Fenix both connected to explore. For some reason this means that every course that goes onto my fenix gets sync'd to my inreach and fills up the memory. I get no value from having the fenix connected to Explore so I want to remove it. I looked at garmin support, but it suggested I go to explore, select the device, and select "Remove Device". There is no "Remove Device" option. So can anyone tell me how I can achieve this, or even just get it to stop syncing every course?

The calendar on “Filter Mapshsre Data” is wrong. It starts each month on the correct day of the week but skips Saturday’s so day and date are off all month (i.e., calendar is using a 6 day week). Why is this happening and how to correct it. AI queries are useless.

Zombie message won't go away from MapShare page

When I was testing out my inReach Mini 2 and MapShare page before a trip, I sent a check-in message "to mapshare" and it appeared on the sidewalk where I did the test.

Even after I deleted the message and adjusted the visibility timestamp for my MapShare, this lone check-in message continues to appear and seems to cause the MapShare page to zoom by default to this location near my home. I can't figure out what else I can do to purge it. Edit: it shows on the map while the "messages" section indicates zero messages.

During the trip, I did several tracking sessions which appeared as intended on the MapShare. I have since deleted them in my Explore map collection, and they disappeared in MapShare too. Edit 2: the check-in timetamp is also earlier than the time cutoff I set on my MapShare settings.

I am not sure I sent any actual messages during the trip, so that zombie message might be the "most recent" I ever did. I'm not sure.

Has anybody else seen this behavior? I want to clear the slate so there is no personal location content in the page until my next trip. And I'd want it to zoom to whatever wilderness routes I decided to share for that trip, not to this location near my home!

The “eye” (visibility toggle) in Garmin Explore Web doesn’t always work as expected, especially when activities belong to collections. Even if you hide one item, it may still appear if it exists in another visible collection.

Toggle Map Visibility for Collection EYE hides all activities in Map view including the one you wish to view.

Hi Guys, I am new to the Garmin Stable and have a Inreach Mini2, Garmin Explore Web (GEW) and Garmin Explore App (GEA). I think I have all the units syncing correctly. I have completed a number of Activities on the Mini2 and synced them with the GEA and can view them on the Samsung 24S. They even appear to sync up correctly to the GEW. I walk regularly in the same general area so many activities are overlapping previous activities. What I wish to be able to do is show individual Activities on the Map View screen. The key to this appears to be related to the “Toggle Map Visibility for Collection” EYE. If I turn off the eye on the collection header line all the activities disappear and all that remains are a few Black Dos representing the activity I wished to view. I have cleared out Browser History, Cache, Temporary files to no avail.

On very rare occasions this has sort of worked but I can’t work out the logic of it.

Any help greatly appreciated. The Map View already looks like spaghetti and unusable.
