Can I download all of UK rather than just tiles of specific areas?

I frequently travel somewhere and when I arrive, need a map to refer to.

I have been frustrated recently by finding myself in an area with no mobile signal and not having a map because it needs to be downloaded.

I'm sure I remember a few years ago being able to download a country or region in Garmin Explore.

I have plenty of storage on my phone - how can I get all the maps I might need so that I'm ready for travel adventures?

It seems this is the case, but I wondered if anyone thinks this will arrive in due course?

Is there a workaround to save waypoints and courses, such as syncing to Garmin Connect and then to the watch?

I’ve experienced similar sync issues with Garmin Explore on Android. In many cases, Garmin Connect syncs activities correctly while Explore either delays syncing or misses activities entirely. Updating both apps, re-pairing the device, and checking that both apps use the same Garmin account can sometimes help, but it seems to be a recurring issue for several users. Hopefully Garmin can provide a more permanent fix soon.

Hi,

I’m using the **Garmin Explore app on Android, and I’m having trouble with syncing.

When I create or update routes/waypoints, they don’t show up on my Garmin device. I tried syncing again, restarting both the app and device, but it still doesn’t work.

Is anyone else facing this? Any idea how to fix it?

Another option is BaseCamp computer app (MAC/PC versions). It's a very powerful tool to organize waypoints/locations. Down side is you have to have the watch connected to the computer via USB to upload/download locations.

Hello DJGShef The Forerunner 170 itself will allow you to Save Locations and store these on the watch. Garmin Connect will allow you to upload your courses, and create new courses. These can then be sent to and from the watch. There is not currently a way to upload Saved Locations using Garmin Connect.

How to fix location not updating in explorer app during activities?

I have regularly experienced an incorrect location in my explorer that won't update even when I press the location icon repeatedly. This often occurs during an activity like a hike on a mountain. It's really important to know where I am. I generally have to look at other apps to get my actual location.

I have:

Android phone: Samsung s24+
Latest OS
Garmin fenix 7 pro sapphire solar (I start the activity on this device)
Garmin inreach mini

I have both garmin devices on and connected in the explorer app.

Please help.

Not sure what you're asking exactly. If your question is "can I join two routes in Garmin Explore app?", then the answer is no as the Explore app does not support this functionality. But there are plenty of online tools (like https://www.therideatlas.com/tools/gpx-editor/merge) that you can use two combine to GPX files with tracks or routes, and then import the combined GPX into Explore app.

If you're asking whether the Edge Explore cycling computer can combine two courses, then I don't know for sure but my guess would be that it isn't possible directly on the device.

Downloading offline maps fails when 100% reached

Hello,

i use the explore app on my android phone (Redmi note 8 pro). I already had troubles downloading offline maps that were cause by the vpn. After fixing that, everything worked fine and now since a few days I have another problem with the offline maps. When I select the area and start the download, it works until 100% are downloaded and the fails. I just get a message that the download has failed. I have already deactivated the vpn, but it did not help. Does anybody have any idea what I can do to fix that?

how do you manage to work with this SW?
I have only 4 (!) waypoints on my Enduro 3 and syncing will not finish at all?

It took me a while to figure out the problem, but it is clear that Garmin filters out parking areas from the map in the Garmin Explore app.

This is very annoying because certainly here in Belgium lots of those places are used for walking/cycling. The result is that you get lots of extra distance and the use of major roads although there is a much better alternative available!

When I know the area I can switch to a direct route for those pieces, but when the area is unknown you just can't guess..

It seems Garmin excludes parking areas since they’re not considered routable, but that ends up forcing longer routes on busy roads. A toggle to include them would make navigation much more practical.

Can I somehow limit the data values shown in LiveTrack? I.e. I want to hide heart rate and power for privacy reasons, while other values are ok to show.

Garmin explore app was working well in th US. When I arrived in Nepall and inserted a local sim card to my phone it stopped showing the map at all. I tried everything. Please help me it is kind of urgent. I very rely on this service here

Likely due to map filtering—Garmin doesn’t treat parking areas as routable paths, so routing avoids them and prefers main roads, causing longer, less efficient navigation.

Can't purchase Outdoor Maps+
