Would it be possible to implement a dive alarm on the fenix 8, similar to other Garmin dive computers, that can be set before reaching the NDL limit? This would greatly enhance safety while diving and could be implemented with a simple software update.

x50i still counts wrong dive numbers

Why is the Garmin Dive app too stupid to correctly count the dives from the expensive X50i?
I’ve already exchanged half a dozen emails with support and have only answered their questions so far, yet I haven't received a single clue on how to solve the problem.

How am I supposed to rely on a computer and its app when even the simplest things—like sequential numbering—turn out to be an unsolvable issue?

My cumulative dive number in the app is 284 (which is wrong also, and can not be edited) but my last dive was counted as no.104 (which is the number of dives with THIS computer).

Hello,

I’ve been using a Descent G1 with the Dive app for a couple of years now, and I feel like there is one feature missing on the Dive app.

It would be nice to have Surface Air Consumption displayed automatically as we enter Entry and Exit gas levels - it is super useful to monitor dives and help us improve consumption.

As of 17 September, we are actively investigating reports of the Garmin Connect app or Gamin Dive app displaying "Previously Paired Device" with already paired Descent G1 devices even though device has only been associated with your account.

Resolved with watch firmware update.

Steps to update:

From the watch face, hold MENU.
Go to System.
Select Software Update.
Look for Update Available.
Select it → Install Now.

Divers which are used to go on a diving holiday usually have dive computers which already has NDL.
Devices like Fenix 8/9 or iWatch Ultra are for people which goes on vacation and by occasion does couple dives not deeper than 20 meters.

Regarding effort of adding it.
Yes, adding it probably would be not complicated, but lack of it was a architectural decision and as such will never be added, especially to Fenix 8.

Well, the fenix 8 is certified up to 40m, and at that depth, you hit the NDL (no-decompression limit) pretty quickly. For divers who go on a diving holiday every now and then and already own a fenix 8 anyway, this is completely sufficient and would increase safety without a huge amount of effort.

Nice idea but if you want to have such option buy Descent.
Dive function in Fenix is addressed to occasional divers which probably never reach NDL.

Hello community,

recently I found out that my Dive totals (nr of dives and total time) on Garmin Dive app is different then the actual numbers. I found out that since I'm using the X50i as my primary computer with all the T2 transmitters connected as My tanks for the consumption rates and data (on mk3i they are as Another Divers transmitters) my dive totals didn't match. When I opened the web platform of Garmin Connect I found out that all the dives that I kept logged from X50i (I deleted the duplicates downloaded from Mk3i) the number of dives started from 1 (even when on the phone they continued in the number of dives sequence) so the total nr. of dives and total diving time was wrong. When I changed all the nr of dives on the web within each dive activity the Totals are now right. I think it's because X50i cannot be selected as primary wearable and only as Gear for diving. So the phone Garmin Dive app takes "two same dive activities" as the same dive with the same dive number but the totals are calculated from the web platform where the dive numbers are different for each device with which it was uploaded (eg. dive 216 with Mk3i, dive 3 with X50i, dive 217 - Mk3i, dive 4 - X50i would shown in the sequence on the web). I like to have X50i as a primary computer and so far this is the only way that I know to have totals in your dive app correct. Do you know any better way to have the numbers correct without syncing only Mk3i dives (without the consumption rates) ????

I have the same problem. Since I started using the Garmin X50i, the dive numbers on the dive computer, in the Garmin Dive app, and on the Connect website have been completely inconsistent. And *none* of them are correct. When I try to correct them, the right numbers don't sync. In some cases, I have three dives with the same dive number in the app.

I've also been getting "This Descent G1 is associated with another device” notifications. Comes up every 12 hours. Very irritating. It's been suggested that I stop all Connect notifications, but that doesn't fix the problem.
