Question for garmin mk3i (iPhone) users

Hey folks,

I currently run an AWU2 and love it, I’ve run AW’s daily since year dot and I find it perfect for my recreational diving so far.

I am however torn and have been toying with the idea of AI so looking at the mk3i (51mm) and happy with all the activity features etc. the battery life is also a big draw.

But trawling through all the reviews and videos it’s hard to see how it performs as an actual smart watch…

So existing users, how are the notifications? Can you interact with them, read and reply to texts, iMessages and WhatsApp etc?

Any other thoughts on the mk3i v the AWU2 that aren’t dive related?

Garmin 67w camera update issue ios

Hi there been having issues doing updates on the camera from the drive app keeps failing to send them from the phone to the camera I’ve tried everything even reported to garmin any help would be awesome

Whenever I try to export dive to fit format on my iPad pro 2021, the app closes without any error-message.

On my iPhone SE 2020, the export works fine. iOS versions on both devices: 26.2

On a fenix 8 43mm, everything seemed fine until now, finally got to try the dive function.

first dive was fine, everyone worked as expected.

1h surface, second dive. After less than 5 minutes, I felt a vibration on my wrist, briefly saw a “end dive” sign, then back to the dive screen, but depth stuck at 5 meters, dive time still running but all other options frozen

now been out of the water for another hour, impossible to quit the dive screen.

Not sure if my fenix has a build problem ?

Convert/Import external dives (from UDDF, CSV, etc into FIT)

I'm looking to see if anyone has written a script that converts UDDF or CSV files into FIT files, so they can be uploaded into Garmin Connect/Dive?

I have already downloaded the Fit CSV Tool via the Fit SDK app, but this will only work if the CSV is formatted correctly in the way that Garmin expects. The background here is that I exported my old dives from the Oceanic app as UDDF, and then imported them into Subsurface. Afterwards I cleaned up some of the dive data, and finally exported all the dives as a CSV file from Subsurface.

I'm hoping that someone might have found a way to easily convert external dive files (either CSV, UDDF, or another file type) into FIT files so they can be loaded into Garmin. Thanks!

Dive number with x50i

Where can I enter the correct number of dives?

I changed from mk3i where the numbers were correct to x50i, which started from number 1 again. Now I have to edit every dive in the dive app cause it is not counting correct.

Hello,

All the information available on the Dive App are great and I was wondering if it was possible to add some analysis tool to allow to track things like:

- The evolution of the SAC rate (maybe filtering by environmental conditions - e.g. with or without current)

- The evolution of the weight needed (maybe filtering by equipment - e.g. weight needed with a dry suit or with a wet suit)

I am trying to extract these information from Garmin Connect or directly from the Dive app and then add them to an excel file to perform the analyses but it requires me to add all the information manually while they are already available in the app. It's a bit of a time waste.

Duplicate Dive Not Working

In an attempt to digitize my analog logbook into Garmin Dive I attempted using the Duplicate function since I do have quite a few dives done at the same location at different times (sometimes years apart). However I cannot get it to work: If I duplicate an existing dive it opens the dive and if I modify e.g. the date and save it, no modified copy of the original dive is created but the original dive is modified.

Am I doing something wrong? And is there a way to duplicate existing dives using Garmin Dive for iOS?

Dear Garmin..

had been a while since the topic was raised but not resolved.

It would be really great to have the function of adding new dive sites (especially when we dive with GPS enabled).

now it pre-populates the dive site to the nearest know (even if that is 50km away)!!

Would be great if you let the community know that this on on your JIRA Backlog and prioritise the ticket ;)

Dive Site search functionality broken

The search functionality when adding a dive site is quite broken. I will search for a dive site, e.g. “palancar” in Cozumel, I’ll get results that don’t even start with P or have any association to the string palancar, result locations will be nowhere near my gps started/ended the dive too. Then if I delete the string from the search bar and rewrite “palancar” 3-5 more times, eventually the app will start showing relevant results.

Dive Log data lost when switching to new phone

Multiple times now I’ve lost my dive log history when getting a new iPhone. I’m using the same exact account and login- but it makes me select my dive count over again and there’s no history. We’re talking years pf dive data and dive site notes I use professionally.

None of the previous posts on this topic offer any solutions and I don’t know how to get in touch with Garmin directly. Posting a new thread with the hopes there’s new information on this topic or someone can share how to get in touch with the right folks at garmin.

I did a couple of dives with my Garmin Descent G1. Most of them synced fine, but one is not shown in Dive app. It is however listed in garmin connect, but when i try to open it it redirects to Dive and it shows 'Something went wrong' message. Any ideas?

Removing Non Logged Dive Time

Air M2 .fit export broken

When I try to export a dive on my Air M2 the app closes.
On my iPhone it works as expected.

The same error happens if I try to write to support from die iPad Air 2024.

Dashcam mini shows live feed but wont connect to drive with Wifi and won't share video with my iphone

Having real trouble viewing any recordings. Dashcam Mini refuses to connect to Drive app to share video. I can see the live camera feed, but when I try to look at videos it keeps trying but fails to connect to dashcam wifi, (I have been trying for over 30 minutes).

I also tried plugging it into my laptop via the USB and the laptop can't even find the dashcam..

Does anyone have any ideas please?

While training I accidently bumped Garmin Forerunner XT 735, and the entire face came loose. Can you please let me know the repair option or if there is a discount polity for purchasing a new watch as i am not sure if the watch will be waterproof anymore ??

Dive name and notes wiped out when cellular connection is found

I’ve just come back from a 7 day trip to Revillagigedo and had no cell reception. After each dive, I named it and added notes about the dive. When I got back to cell reception, all of the notes were totally gone and the titles had changed over to whatever Garmin felt best based on GPS. Am I missing something I need to enable to keep my edits? Or is this a feature request to maintain and user made edits when cellular reception is restored?

How to add alternative gas?

I am a new owner of a Decent MK3i and wanted to set up Nitrox (32% oxygen / EAN32) alongside the regular breathing gas (21% oxygen) for my diving trip. Unfortunately, it seems I can only add it as a backup gas, which cannot be selected. Is there a way to preconfigure different diving gases?

If not, does anyone know why this (in my opinion) basic feature isn't available?

Is there any plan to make a browser version of the app (like Connet web version) with the possibility to edit multiple dives information at once?

It might be useful for a detailed review of the dive and also to add repetitive information to multiple dives, such as the equipment that has been used. With the app you have to manually add every piece of equipment that has been used in the dive and when you do 3 dives per day it becomes quite boring ;)
