Data sync with Garmin Dive app (android)

I have a Garmin Descent MK2i and have been using it for sometime now.

There are instances where the dive computer logs the dive, but doesn't sync it with the Garmin Dive app.

Has anyone faced the issue before? What can I do to solve it?

Logging Dives from both Decent Mk3i and X50i

In Garmin Dive setup I set a starting dive number of 1046. The logs have some dives from the Mk3i and some dives from the X50i counting from 1046 but others counting from 1. The Mk3i is set as primary.

If I delete all logs:

Can I set the starting dive number to 1046, again?

How can I tell the Mk3i to reload all it's dives again? In hopes it starts with 1047.

It seems like a software enhancement is needed to be able to separate dive logs by computer model before I should try to upload dives from the X50i again.

Right now, logging dives from both Mk3i and X50i in the Garmin Dive app isn’t handled well—it treats them as separate devices with independent dive counters, not a unified log.

Missing dive on Garmin dive app logbook

I accidentally deleted a dive that was recorded in my logbook on Garmin Dive. On my MK3i, this dive is still saved. I tried refreshing the synchronization between my MK3i and Garmin Dive, but the missing dive was not transferred. How can I “force” this transfer from my MK3i? Thank you for your help.

Totals in Garmin Dive

When i first open my garmin dive app and got to the "You" page, the app does not show the total dives or the cumulative dive time. If i click the edit option to edit my profile, change something and save, then the totals are shown.

If i pull to refresh the you page the totals do not show either. Only by editing the profile can i make the app display them.

I tried logging out, clearing the app cache and logging back in and the problem is still there.

Is there a way to fix this?

I just spoke with support on this issue.

Thought I was going crazy having to manually update dive log number. I have gone from mk2i->mk3i->x50i. There were not any issues when upgrading from mk2i to mk3i because they were primary devices in garmin connect. However, there’s now a few issues with x50i that they are trying to address but it will be an app update and not firmware.

1. x50i keeps track of log increments on the device

2. x50i is not available in garmin connect

3. having mk3i and x50i in dive app, only mk3i is available to set as primary.

Recommendation: Call Support to report this issue and be added to the open case. I was told the more people added to the case would raise the priority for a fix.

i also asked about opening a separate case on being able to set x50i as primary when diving with mk3i as backup computer (so we can decide which device to upload logs from)

Because you're using a third-party device, it cannot sync with the Garmin Dive app directly, so the verified steps mentioned in this thread won't apply to you. Hi there,

I uploaded a few dives via Garnin Connect Web and edited them on the website as needed (e.g. Change the name of the dive, add coordinates etc).

When I check Garmin connect on the phone I can see all the dives listed under activities including the names given to each dive.

Garmin Dive however onoy takes this data partially. While I can see all dives listed, many are missing the name I gave the activity (show default: Dive 23 etc,) and are missing other data such the coordinates entered.

Further, for those with missing data, when I select the dive under activities on the phone it will try and open the dive in Garmin Dive but throws an error message that something went wrong. I assume this is the case due to the data missmatch between the 2.

Is there a way to force Garmin Dive to fully resync all dives from connect?

Here is an update on the issue.

After a lot of try and error I found out that the Garmin import fuction seems to have an issue with large data sets.

When I import more than 5-6 dives at the same time some of the data or sync between connect and dive seems to time out or the garmin DB simply messed up the import.

Only solution I found:

1) delete the affected dive in garmin dive

2) re-import the dive (max 4 at a time) in connect web

3) garmin dive will now sync these and you can edit the dive

Simple way to figure out which dives are affected: try and edit the dive in garmin dive (you will get an error) or clicknon the dive in connect on your phone to open it up (garmin dive will open telling you the dive is not found)

Mk3i says to do steps to turn it on... go to T2 as Dircted & said it couldnt be turned on...

There needs to be a fix for this.

Originally used mk3i and upgraded to x50i.
set log number in app. X50i started at dive 1. Now every time I dive with x50i it continues to increment of the number of x50i dives and not dive app. Have to manually adjust the dive nine after each dive is logged. B

this defeats the convenience of auto incremented dive logs.

Can Garmin add a feature to the Garmin Dive app to allow us to merge 2 dives together? Yes, we can adjust the dive interval on the dive computer to not automatically trigger a new dive, but this doesn't help after the fact.

Log an issue with the dive fit appender on the github site describing the error you're encountering and attach the fit files you're trying to merge.

Hi,

Looking at the Final Report and I don't understand why you suggest a 8x25 training, but on the final report you show 16 times session.

You probably mean 8 dives and 8 surface breath?

Dives are main training sessions.

Surface breathing is just recovery time...

I should add, I've tried to use the FIT File Tool to merge them as well as Sumo Dave's GarminDiveFitAppender, neither worked in my case. The merged FIT file would not upload to Garmin. On official solution through the app to merge dives would be much appreciated.

Your reply has not answered any of the questions listed. I was already logging dives from both the Descent Mk3i and x50i. But the Garmin Dive App mixes which device logs to which dive number. Say I did 2 dives while wearing both devices. The x50i logs as number 1047 and Mk3i as 1. The next day I do 2 more dives while wearing both devices. This time the x50i logs as dive 2 and the Mk3i logs as dive 1048. The log number for each device should match my number of dives, 1047 for each device, 1048 for each device and so on.

At the bottom of a dive log it shows which device the data is from. A great enhancement would be to a filter on device.

Asking again, if I delete all logs, remove both devices will the logs reload once a device is added?
