Help recovering data from a corrupt .tss file (Header too small / missing)

Hi,

My Garmin watch died mid-activity and left a temporary .tss file in the TempFIT folder. The file size is around 74 KB (73,728 bytes), so the raw data should be in there.

I have renamed the extension to .fit, but all online tools (FIT File Tools, GOTOES, FitFileLab) fail to repair it. GOTOES reports that the "header is too small" or missing.

Could any of the file repair wizards here please help me rebuild the header and recover the activity data?

Digital Elevation Model (DEM) shows 0 ascent

The Digital Elevation Model on Garmin Connect is broken. If you change the elevation source for an activity from "Your Device" to "Digital Elevation Model (DEM) Data" then total ascent goes to 0. This worked a few days ago so it appears that Garmin broke something in a recent update.

Training Effect manual activity

A manual Activity always shows a Training Effect of 5.0 and very high training load. I don‘t add Heart Rate or other Information, just distance and time for keeping track of my overall cycling distance. It started a few weeks ago, before it did not change training load and did not have a training effect. Why does it happen and can I change it afterwards? Even if I delete the activity training load stays very high.

Safari web browser - cannot log in to Garmin Connect or forums

Safari login has just stopped working. I've tried deleting all my cookies and it makes no difference.

On entering my email address and password and pressing the "Sign in" button the page hangs.

EPICS no longer display in Garmin Connect.

I've created maybe 10 EPICS in Garmin Connect. However, now when I click on the EPICS option in Garmin Connect, I only receive a blank page. I am no longer able to view the list of EPICS I created. On the mobile app, I simply see a "Running Man". All other functionality appears to work within Garmin Connect web and mobile app versions.

Course Dropdown

The course dropdown is unusable on the web version of Garmin Connect. It used to be alphabetic, but it changed to be in the order the course was created. However it was still alphabetic if you edited the activity. Now they've changed that too. Why!!!! I have several old courses which I still use regularly but they're impossible to find.

Garmin Run Coach - 'Days Available' and 'Long Run Days' keeps getting reset to 'Every Day' / 'Weekends'

A couple of weeks ago, I started on the Garmin Run Coach and selected 5 days / week as available training days. This was before the new 'Challenger' and 'Achiever' levels were introduced.

When the new training levels came in, I was switched over to the 'Achiever' level at 5d/week.

It turns out that 5d/week is too much training for me right now. So I have switched over to the 'Challenger' level and reduced to 4 days per week.

However, the 'Days Available' setting keeps getting reset to 'Every Day', the 'Long Run' keeps getting reset to 'Weekends' and I keep getting workouts scheduled every day:

I reset the days back to 4 days yesterday afternoon and the setting appeared to persist. However, here is what the screen looks like this morning:

And here is what's been allocated to me next week:

I have tried resetting the training days on both Garmin Connect Web and via the iOS app, and am having the same problem.

I have a 25-week custom training plan in Intervals.icu for an upcoming ultramarathon, incorporating running and cycling. Individual workouts can sync to Garmin, but I want to import and view the entire dated plan in Garmin Connect, including future weeks, while retaining the workout steps and pace or heart-rate targets.

I haven’t found a straightforward way to do this without creating and scheduling sessions individually. I understand Garmin’s Training API supports publishing workouts and training plans, so I’m unsure whether the restriction is with Garmin, the connected platform, or simply the lack of a user-facing import tool.

Exporting data to CSV

I see there is lot's of possibilities exporting data to CSV format f.e. activities, sleep, stress etc. which is excellent for analysing in AI chatbots.

Could export of nutrition data also be made available?

Hello,

It seems there is an error. No context provided: useLeafletContext() can only be used in a descendant of <MapContainer>

Initially, the data loads for a few moments, then, when the error occurs, a blank page is displayed.

Peloton workouts show in Connect but don’t get sent to other apps

Peloton rides (from my bike+) are syncing into Garmin Connect just fine. I can see the full activity, HR, power, the works. I can even download the FIT file.

The problem is they never get forwarded to Intervals.icu. Activities I actually record on my Epix Pro show up on both garmin connect and intervals.icu automatically. The Peloton ones don’t. Looks like Connect is keeping the Peloton activity, but Garmin isn’t sending third-party workouts out through the API the way it does for Garmin-device activities.

Is that expected? Any way to make Peloton activities in Connect get pushed to connected apps the same as a watch/Edge activity?

Hello,

I often look at other people's courses in Garmin Connect. I'm sure that previously when I was looked at them in list view and clicked "Copy Link" all that happened is that the link was copied and I could use it to open a new tab. What now happens is that GC goes to the course as well as copying the link. This has the problem that the list view is lost and I need to start everything again from a map for a location halfway across the world.

Is there a fix to this problem?

Newsfeed on Web not showing

Just today the newsfeed has stopped working on the web, it will flash for a second but then be blank. Mobile app works normal. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Garmin connect - courses not saving

I'm trying to import a course from a.gpx file.

I open courses, select "import" and open the .gpx.

It all loads nicely and I see the course displayed on the map

I select mountain biking as the course type

I click "Save" and a dialog box opens titled "Save course".

I check the course name and click "save" at the bottom of the box

Then nothing happens, save becomes blue/grey but that's it.

The course never saves and does not appear in my list of courses.

I already have 150 courses, is there a limit? What else is stopping this from working??

Course editing still broken

See Course editing not working, i cant drag a prior course to a new road? I've done this for the last 15 years and its always worked. But has now stopped!! any ideas why?

Can someone fix this please? It's been months, and nothing, or half fixed.

I cannot log in to Garmin Connect using Safari as my browser. (8 PM/GMT) It works fine with the Brave browser. Username and password are correct. Mac M3/Tahoe 26.6.2. Does anyone have an idea?

Cannot move boxes when designing a custom run workout

I used to just click and hold to move boxed with intervals and rest and introduce new boxes or repeats.

I just tried after a few weeks and it does not work. Tried with Shift, Command Control Options (I'm on Mac) and with Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

I feel like an idiot as I have been using this for years, extensively. Was there an update that changed this?

Unable to delete a weigh-in: GC keeps bringing it back a few minutes after deleting

I recently put in a wrong weigh-in result on my watch (going to the "Weight Tracking" app and then inputting a new weight). After spending a few hours fiddling around with Garmin Connect on my Android device, the weigh-in no longer appears on my watch.

However, the wrong weigh-in will still randomly appear on Garmin Connect on my Android device and on the web. Whenever I delete the bad weigh-in, it seemingly deletes, but then randomly comes back after a few minutes. This has been happening for a few days.

Clearing the app's cache, and eventually reinstalling the app from my phone, did not resolve the issue.

I've looked around to see if this concern has been addressed before, and found the following:

How do I review historical strength data?

Ask: To see how much I have been lifting for how many reps on a given date for a given exercise.

Specifically I've been trying to solve this problem by parsing the activity summary JSON from my data management export. I have just spent 2+ hours browsing github and writing python to no avail.

Currently the best option I have identified is not practically workable: I would have to download each file from each strength activity individually and then append them. The CSV activity summary download on Web does not include any weights, even though it has sets and reps!!

Can I get some python code? Or can we get weights added to the CSV activity summary export for strength exercises?

Delete sleep, HRV and Stress data for one day/night

I leant my watch to my partner to wear for one night sleep for curiosity it now I think it has skewed my own hrv and stress data as he has a lower heart rate than me. Can I delete one day/nights worth of data and would this remove it from any calculations?

I have the Lily 2 active and I can’t find any options to delete the data either in the garmin connect app or online website.

I requested my Garmin Data Export and received a link to download my data. Downloaded the zip file which I extracted OK. In the extracted files there is another zip file "UploadedFiles_0-_Part1.zip" which I think has all my hike data. When I tried, multiple time, to extract the data, it hangs my computer.
How do you tell someone the Garmin Data Export has a problem or fix the problem?

Have we lost ability to export calories burned?

I can no longer see the option to export to csv file total calories burned. I have been doing this for years. Please tell me this hasn't been removed or that I have to start paying a subscription to be able to export my calories. I go to Nutrition, then Calories Burned. I see my total daily calories but don't see anything to click on to export to csv file. Thanks.
