Appears that Garmin is trying to make improvements to Connect and device connectivity. However, they have stepped backwards to the point that they have released something that does not function correctly and wasting consumers time. Have switched back to the original connect, as the modern connect links fails or errs to the point that is is not usable or does not provide the recorded data or connectivity that we use to experience and expect. Now the Original Connect does not show charts of the data recorded and uploaded. Do not feel this is even a Beta release it is so bad. Anyone have any thoughts or experiencing the same problems?
There are a number of posts/threads here about that issue ... it's due to something on your mac blocking the download, one of the main culprits seems to be ghostery but any ad blocker or firewall could be the issue.
so do I have to disable safe browsing features to use it? Ghostery stays as does cookie blocking as does firewall. Why would Garmin create a site that would then leave a users commuter open to unlimited attacks?
You don't have to disable Ghostery, you just have to enable AdThis when browsing connect.garmin.com. If this is asking too much, then you should not use Garmin Connect at all.
I have to agree with many of the posts here are about the "Modern" version of Connect. It is simply unusable for me. I'm a stairclimber, probably 75% of my activities list "Steps" as the workout type. When attempting to view one of these activities in "Modern", it draws all the pretty (and unnecessary) things around the outer edges, but the area that should show the data just has a spinning circle. I've left it on that screen for hours, it never displays anything (and interestingly enough, it never times out and logs me off either). I'm not going to go back and change workout categories on several hundred activities just so they can be displayed on a mobile device that I don't use for this type of data. I contacted Garmin support about this when Modern first came out (at the time I thought it was a Firefox incompatibility). They were "going to look into it" and get back to me. The only response I ever received was an automatic email stating the ticket was being closed because it was so old. I figured out the fact it was the workout type by accident, sent them an email and am still listening to crickets instead of a response. </vent off>
