I run daily and track these events with my Garmin 245 Forerunner. They simply go into Garmin Connect as Activities -> Running. I go into Connect, select Activities -> All Activities and all of them are listed.
I also occasionally run in local races such as 5Ks, 4 Milers, etc... On those events I go into Garmin Connect after the fact and change the name of the event from simply "Running" to the name of the event such as " Some Local 5K". I add a link to to the notes field for the official timing results if available.
I also select the drop down "Event Type" and set it to "Race".
I may be missing some obvious step or trick... But I cannot seem to filter on or report from just those activities that I've selected as "Race".
I can type into the activities search field "5K" and filter to those activities that happen to have "5K" in their title, or "4 Mile" or "Marathon" or whatever.
But is there not a way to filter down to all events that are "Race"??? Otherwise - why have the drop down field for Event Type at all in Garmin Connect if you can't search on it?
Thanks for any tips on how to search and view just the 'races' and not 'all' running activities'.
