I think you misunderstood. Garmin does not need any additional data in order to share it with Bkool. They just need your permission to share the data with Bkool. It does not violate any laws. In contrary, it protects your privacy, and avoids accidentally sharing the data with 3rd parties without your explicit consent.

Bkool publishes that you can connect with Garmin "one way" from Bkool to Garmin but you have to allow Garmin access to all of your data. This seems to be against European Law but Garmin as others feel to be superior to any law?

Neither me. I do not believe Garmin is going to change their API policy. On my mind your best chance is asking Bkool to get it done, just like Zwift, Rouvy, Tacx and some others did. Well, Tacx is now Garmin, so that's a bit different story.

Don't really agree.
Garmin could make their environment robust to bad data posting (Strava seems to have managed this).
Like really its only the data for a single users specific activity that should be duff (I've done enough development myself) - and at that point a user can pick that up with the 3rd party.

Garmin could scrap licence/certification fees (if there are any, otherwise I would be interested to know how much they are)
... but it seems if this is the case then Strava & Trainer Road are making it worthwhile for 3rd parties to engage while Garmin Connect isn't.

If Bkool metrics aren't integrated to GC fairly asap I'm likely to be looking at moving away from Garmin .
which will be a shame - since i've been on Garmin Devices for about nearly 15 years and I even like Garmin Connect (in most other regards).

AFAIK, Garmin does not develop any interfaces for 3rd party services. Garmin already has an API that 3rd party services can use. The 3rd party needs to acquire the access to the API and develop their own interface. The access to the the API for writing back to Garmin is restricted more than the read-only API. It requires a certification process (to avoid spoiling Garmin's database with bad data), and possibly also some license fees. That's the true reason why the number of 3rd party apps writing back to Garmin is much lower than those who use the easier accessible read-only API.

There is not much Garmin can do for you here. You have to speak to the 3rd party service and persuade them that the additional hurdle of acquiring the full access to Garmin's API is worth of it.

7 years and no fix from Garmin.
Garmin - You've done it for Zwift - so please allow it for BKOOL !!!!!
If Garmin doesnt fix this I'll have to use my own fix (e.g. in about 12months I will replace my Fenix and Garmin Connect, with CORUS and Strava).

"For the time being, this connection [Bkool & Garmin accounts] will only show workouts from Garmin Connect and send them to your Bkool profile. It will not synchronise your activities on Bkool to your Garmin account however we are not ruling this possibility out for a future update".

Yes, very disappointing. I got this reply from them back in January; Thanks for your message. The sync between Bkool and Garmin accounts allows Garmin sessions to be stored at Bkool.com once it is set up, but not from Bkool to Garmin yet, we are sorry.

Strava and Bkool sessions are fully synchronised.
