  • is this normal?

I wear the watch sice years 24/7, but never had the feeling. You might have tighten the strap too much.

  • thanks for the advise will try a bit looser see if that is the issue.

  • I have tried with looser strap, and even change me arm, upside and under, and the problem is still there, also the more i check online the more i see people getting similar issues, described as burning/tingling that stays well after remove the watch! I have contacted garmin and no response

  • Not sure Garmin can do something about it. If you suffer from some intolerance to the material, I would rather suggest consulting a physician, or an alergolog. You can also try using a wristband made of a different material. Or return the watch and get your money back. You can try another model, to see whether it makes any difference.

Edit: For example the more expensive models have often glass back, not resin like Instinct. The glass is easier to wash, and to remove the bacterial plaque. May be easier to wear for people with sensitive skin.

  • BTW, the skin irritation that you feel even after removing the watch, usually comes from a bacterial rush. It is necessary to rinse the watch after each sweaty activity, and to disinfect it with 70% alcohol up and then. Avoid putting the watch back on the wrist for a few days, till it fully heals. It is also recommended to put the watch on the opposite wrist for example during the night, to avoid having the same wrist covered by the watch all the time.

  • I have not even used my garmin for sports or physical activity, it happened when unboxed it and put it on for the first time, i have made ny decision to turn it back but no answer from Garmin, this watch is not healthy for me

  • but no answer from Garmin

Use the phone or chat option.

BTW, if the watch is hot on the back, then it can be perhaps defect. In such case a replacement would solve it. But if you get the same feeling with a replacement watch, then it is apparently not good for you.
