In the morning, current weather doesn’t appear on my Epix2. I have to open connect on my iPhone, turn off Connect, then turn it back on. Just syncing doesn’t help. This has been going on for a couple of months.

am running the latest version of iOS and Garmin Connect and Epix firmware is up to date. But every morning, current temperature on my watchface (not custom) shows - -. I can try syncing from the watch, or the phone, no change. But if I turn the app off (swipe up) then turn the app back on, within seconds, the display is correct.
Any idea what’s going on ?

I own an EPIX2 too with a similar issue. Sometimes, the meteo data are well updated all the day without doing anything manually (ie the app runs in full background, it is not visible) and sometimes I have to open CONNECT app and let it minimized which is not handy at all. The most annoying is there is a similar issue with the LIVE TRACKING feature, the auto start command works only if CONNECT app is opened or minimized.

Iphone 14 pro, IOS 16.x up to date and EPIX2 firmware too.

My wife has an EPIX2 too but paired with an android google pixel 6 and the meteo data + Live tracking feature work perfectly whatever the state of the CONNECT app (ie full background, opened or minimized).

good to know I’m not alone. No, I have heard nothing else about this behavior. It’s annoying, but not a dealbreaker.

Is the app permisioned to use the GPS position in the background? For privacy purposes iOS has a tendency to (ask to) turn that off.

Hello, yes Connect is authorized for using GPS without any restriction.

Then I have no other idea… this has been the culprit for my Fenix 6.
