same happened to me. I have iphone 7 plus and fenix 6s sapphire. i called garmin support and walked through everything. Apparently it’s an issue with the iq app connection to your watch. Workaround solution…
Are sure you have the latest firmware installed on the watch?
Try rebooting the watch. Hold the upper left button for 15-20 seconds until the watch turns itself off, and then turn it back on.

I'm having the same problems. Only bought the watch today and can't add any new watch faces, just get IQ!. Tried resetting loads of times and connected to Garmin express but says can't update as insufficient space available. Just about ready to throw it out the window!

Why is it that this is the last helpful answer even though it is far from a solution. I don’t have a laptop, is Garmin going to send me one so their product will work as advertised?
