Training VO2

Why isn't there a mode (I use the MK2), where walking can contribute to training status.   Its currently only registers running, and cycling with power meters.   A walking mode shouldn't be difficult and would help increase low aerobic activity.

I could use running mode, then just walk but it screws up my tracking of activities.

  • As far as I see in my stats, walking does contribute to the Training Effect, to the Training Load, and hence to the Training Status too. See for example the stats from a Walk activity below. I do also use a custom field "Training Effect" on a Walk activity screen, and it does increment during the walk.

  • Sorry, I mis-stated my issue.  Yes it credits... but if I don't run or bike for 2 weeks the training status goes off until I run/bike 2x in a week (and this is what is stated on the app so I don't think its misfunctioning.).   I would like to see walking added so that i don't have to run/bike all the time to keep my training status active.     For instance in Dec I couldn't run so my status status went blank until i started up again.
