Currently using AutoNotification app, that can filter out even this notification. Having it now running for a few days and works without a hitch.

Any news regarding this issue? Just got my Fenix 6, and I'm really annoyed by the mass of messages I get from my provider. Sometimes there is a message every few minutes and I can't turn it off on my phone, can't turn it off in the Garmin Connect settings and ignoring the app on the watch does also not ignore it.

What I tried previously was disable all App notification in Garmin Connect. Then the notification disappeared from my watch but after time it came back again. I also raised a ticket with Garmin and got a very vague answer that developers will look into it.

More work-around than solution, have you looked into getting a Femtocell [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Femtocell#Overview_and_benefits] for your home?

Similar problem when you have call forwarding active on your phone (many reasons for this including forwarding a local number to a Google Voice or Skype number when traveling) the notification is constant and repeats every few minutes

Generally my wish would be, when Connect shows list of apps it should also show list of system apps and not just the user-installed ones. Maybe there is a simple filter in the Android SDK for this. I would happily let those system notification live just on the phone

Tried it, unfortunately that is not that setting. This controls if the phone shows "System" notifications from Garmin Connect app. It does not configure / influence which notification go to the watch.

Did you check app notifications for the Garmin Connect app? Long press the Connect icon > App info > Notifications > toggle off System
