My wife’s iPhone is not receiving notifications from my Earthmate messages.. never had an issue before, checked our phones service provider and no restrictions found on our account, wondering if anyone had the same issue.

exporting earthmate tracks made when not using an inreach

Is it possible to export earthmate tracks made without my inreach explorer, when earthmate is using the phone's GPS? I don't always hae my inreach explorer+ when I go hiking, and would like to export the tracks made by explorer when it is using the iphone's GPS.

Earthmate should allow calling or emailing contacts from More(...) > Contacts

Unless I'm misinterpreting something - Earthmate doesn't allow us to go to More(...) > Contacts and then select a contact to call or email. This is something simple that it should allow. Frankly the UI looks like it should work, but touching the phone or email icon does nothing.

Why show us they have this info if we can't use it from there? If the cellular network is up let us call or email.

inReach MapShare Not Working

Hi, We’re on an ocean voyage traveling South along the coast of California and the Mapshare function stopped working today. The inReach shows as tracking but web tracking access is intermittent at best. Our track should be at share.garmin.com/Tillikum

Please advise what to do.

How to add phone contacts to Earthmate?

When setting up Earthmate on my 5S, it asked if I wanted it to access my phone contacts. I mistakenly hit "no". Now, rather than sending a message as easily as I would a regular text, it's a bit of a process. I would like it to be as easy as texting. How do I now allow Earthmate to access my phone contacts?

Do I need both earth mate and messenger for inreach explorer +?

I am trying to streamline and I want to eliminate one of the two apps on my iphone. Which one goes.... Garmin Messenger or Garmin Earthmate? My main use is for text messaging my hiking mate who uses the Mini 2.

delete a track line

I have a track line that is showing up on the Explore App on my phone but it is not showing up on the Explore website on my computer. If I go to options on the phone App, under Map, and select toggle off from "Show Track Line", it is gone but I'd like to delete it. I do not see this track on the Explore website. Any suggestions on how to delete it from phone?

Can’t update the device to the latest firmware.

My “check-in” messages are not updating when I sync the phone app. I have double checked that the changes were made on the website. Also not letting me update the firmware the App link sends me to a dead end page

Earthmate Insufficient Storage

I've been in the backcountry without cell or Wi-Fi. Suddenly Earthmate opens on a screen that says Insufficient Storage delete content IF that doesn't help delete the app and reinstall it. What? I had no cell or Wi-Fi!! The screen is frozen, offers no way to delete anything.

After multiple hard restarts my usual Earthmate screen appeared. Then it went back to Insufficient Storage etc. More hard restarts and at this moment it's working fine.

As soon as I could I drove to a spot with cell. I looked up solutions. None. I'm not willing to delete and reinstall right now. I depend on it for my safety. It's working. If it works don't fix it. But I have six more days in the backcountry and I don't trust it. Please post more information on this issue!

How to upload GPX tracks from my computer to Earthmate app on iPhone?

In explore.garmin.com, in the Map tab I created a Collection and uploaded several .GPX tracks from my computer. My inReach Explorer is connected to my computer via USB cable. I have the inReach Sync app installed on my computer. The Earthmate app on my iPhone shows that its connected to my inReach Explorer.

In explore.garmin.com, in my Collection with the GPX tracks visible and saved, I click the Sync icon. A model window says "Sync This Collection to the Following Devices: Inreach Explorer." I click Save. A pink window opens and says "Sync Required. You must perform a sync for your devices to have this update...Go to Plans & Devices." I go to Plans & Devices. I click Sync & Update. This says to use inReach Sync Desktop App. I open the app and it syncs my inReach Explorer.

This screen also says that the Earthmate app can sync manually from within the app. I open the app and click Sync.

In my inReach Explorer under Routes my GPX tracks aren't there. In the Earthmate app under Routes my GPX tracks aren't there. What do I need to do?

Hello,

on my last journey I wanted to safe energy on my inReach, so I used the Earthmate app on iOS with the inbuilt GPS to track my voyage in the first week. I can see the track in the app, but I can not find it on the website explore.garmin.com. (In the second week I used the inReach - every track is visible in the website and the app.)

The sync in the app seems to work, I can't find any tracks in "unorganized", I have all tracks visible...

Can anyone help me?

Hey all… I have an older inReach explorer I have for emergencies and would like to use my iPhone earthmate app for GPS guidance, tracking etc. I can see all my tracks that I made on my last phone with the app on explore.garmin.com but I can’t see any of those tracks on my new phone only the waypoints… Does that mean I lost all the tracks on my new phone and/or is there a way to download those tracks that I can see online but not on the app on my phone?

iOS Earthmate not syncing waymarks created in Explore map website

Waymarks that I have created in Garmin's Explore map on the website are not syncing with the Earthmate app (on iOS).

I have successfully done this action before. This is the first time that it has failed. I have tried removing the app and then re-installing it.

I am using iOS 12.1.2

I have tried emailing the help desk but they take so long and my hike is coming up soon.

Error message: insufficient storage when using Earthmate app on my ipad with InReach Explorer

I own a old inReach Explorer device that I bought when it was still offered by Delorme before Gramin bought it.

It still works fine and I’ve been using it for years with the Earthmate app on my ipad 11

Recently when I start the Earthmate app I get a message that I have insufficient storage, To delete data that I know longer need to use and that if this doesn’t work to reinstall the app.

I have removed EVERYTHING (messages, routes, waypoint, etc) except 24 waypoints. But the error message still doesn’t go away. And the earthmate remains froze.

The only thing that allows my inReach and Earthmate to work with each other is to reinstall the Earthmate app,

that works fine until I reboot my ipad then the insufficient storage error comes back and the Earthmate app is again frozen.

anybody else ran into this? Do you have a solution or workaround? Thanks

Enable tracking using Earthmate

I'd like to use the Earthmate app to enable tracking on my inreach mini. From the tracking screen if i push start, I'm then given the option to SHARE, CLEAR or CANCEL. If choose share, it sends a message against my quota, but i doesn't actually seen to start tracking on the device.

Am I doing something wrong?

How to separate tracks?

My inReach Mini tracked 2 different hikes on 2 different days — several days and many miles apart. Now, I have what looks like a single track of both hikes with a massive line connecting them on the map and close to 30 extra miles reflected. I don’t see any way to delete the connection between the two tracks without deleting both tracks (which the map is showing me as one!). Is there a way to go in and singularly delete the point of connection between the two tracks?

Will there ever be more detailed map options for Australian users/subscribers? I'm guessing we pay the same for our subscriptions ( allowing for dollar conversion ) as our US friends, why don't we have access to satellite imagery and high detail maps?

Message sequence error

I’ve been using my InReach for a couple of month now. I have noticed - on many occasions - that single long messages from friends (which get automatically broken into shorter messages by the Garmin messaging servers) end up being displayed out of sequence when viewed on either the InReach or via Earthmate. For example, I often receive message sequences like this:

“We are flying”

“up at the airport”

“to Mexico tomorrow”

“Can you pick us”

Clearly, message 2 should have been displayed last.

Please fix this by taking the extra step to ensure that message fragments get displayed in their original order.
