I have a Delorm in reach SE. I’ve got a Samsung S9 with the Earth Mate App

I am finding that when I’ve got absolutely no cell service and I bring up the Earth made app and go to messages. The screen is completely white. If I’ve got one bar of cell service, the message screen tends to come up this just recently started happening

I have Unpaired and repaired the device my Bluetooth on my phone and on the unreached device is both enabled. It shows connected on the in reached device. I just don’t know what other troubleshooting to do. I can still send messages through the end reach, but it is much easier to do it through the app

Earthmate app next button unresponsive

Installed Eartmate on my android phone to manage my garmin inreach mini. Cannot get past the eula screen even though I granted all permissions. Have restated numerous times. All devices have bluetooth on but the next button on the Eartmate app is unresponsive - greyed out.

offline maps to ext SD

I have tried on Android phones with android11 , android9, android10. But so far I was not able to store the downloaded offline maps to the ext storage (sd card)

is there any trick to do this?

Earthmate Waypoint Names

Is there a way to see the waypoint names on Earthmate? I see them on the inreach, but not on Earthmate.

inReach Sync error: 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'

Hi there, I'm trying to sync my Garmin inReach Explorer+ using inReach Sync on my Windows laptop (Windows 11) and I get the following error message...

"Error syncing waypoints for user [my ID number?] Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

I have tried using a couple of different compatible USB cables, and a couple of different laptops, with the cable plugged directly into a USB port rather than a USB hub, and the error is persisting.

Please advise how I can fix this problem.

Map update and latest map

Using Earthmate in the UK with an InReach mini.

Is there an option to update the topo map, does the app do it automatically, or do you have to remove the map and re-add it to update?

Also, what it the date of the latest map and is there a set update frequency?

Sync problem earthmate and inreach explorer+

Hi, I recently purchased an inreach explorer+. I installed earthmap on my android phone and subscribed to inreach service plan. Now I want to sync that to my device to upload a map and send a test message, but it won't sync. It keeps giving an error message that it is unable to sync. I just spend a total of 400 dollar and I can't even start using this device. Hoping someone can help me out.

hello... i use my explorer+ earthmate app exclusively for fishing. i stick around our island mostly, i dont venture up or down the chain. now my concern...

up until 6months ago, you could load NOAA maps into earthmate. depending on whichever body of water you chose, they would autodownload into a (SD) folder and appear almost immediately using bluetooth. the path of those folders were;

/storage/75FD-64AD/Android/data/com.delorme.earthmate/files/maps/

6moths ago, garmin choose to not provide those maps any longer. they sent an email saying that in the near future, i could go with their "navionics boating" app which would do the same thing. problem is that the boating app does not recognize the explorer+.

does anyone remember which folder those NOAA files are copied into?

does anyone know which program can view those particular image files? (aside from earthmate itself)

does anyone know someone who might know? (this last one pretty much covers it)

in this age of getting the best bang for your buck, i guess the airlines aren't the only companies out there!

Contour lines not displaying in Earthmate maps

Hi folks, I can't find a way to display contour lines in maps in the Android app. Have downloaded the following maps: TopoActive and Digital Map of the World, and have them and Hybrid Map turned on. I've tried to download more detail for a waypoint and a region, but that has not resolved it. Need some help please. Thanks.

I cannot see half the span of my maps now. It has a "Dismiss" button, but it does not seem to work. This is doubly annoying as I NEVER use the weather portion of the app, and so does not apply to my usage. I need these maps in 3 days to go into the back country, so this issue is rather pressing...or back to printing hard copy maps...

I am using Android on a Samsung S5 (yes...an S5, but works for me otherwise). If I delete and reinstall Earhtmate:

a) I believe the NOAA announcement will just return...

b) I have a SERIOUS amount of maps loaded, and do not want to risk losing them or the new Earthmate failing

to recognize them.

Any help is much appreciate.

Incoming Messages not synced to Eathmate

Hi,

all features of Earthmate are working fine on my galaxy S10 with the inReach mini.
During active tracking:
When I send messages the replies are synced to Earthmate.
But when someone sends a message via explore website, inReach is recieving this message, but it is not synced to the galaxy S10
Need to know, if I am the only one with this.

Love my InReach when in the depths of the Alaska wilderness....However I can't seem to get Aerial imagery for some areas to show on my synced phone through Explorer app.. I even just bought the Garmin region card for Alaska, still nothing (did I waste my money there?) and yes I have maps downloaded to E app. (maybe no coverage for my area?)

Aerial Maps are far better than topo, especially in emergencies.

I just found out that despite the online map (explore.garmin.com/Map) offer aerial view for the whole globe, the aerials maps offered via Earthmate app are restricted to the USA.

Gamin, WHY??

On a side note, does anyone know any hack to upload external, non-official maps to the Earthmate app?

Inreach Mini problem sending texts

My new Inreach Mini seems to have a problem sending texts - Earthmate app says "weak GPS signal" but the Inreach can still display my location's GPS coordinates and get a weather report. I'm talking hour or more without it sending the texts and I am constantly forcing the "check messages."

Tested my new inReach mini this weekend using the Earthmate App. Duplicate messages (x3) were sent for every one message sent via Earthmate. I have the Freedom Recreation Plan and have now used half of my message allotment for one hike. This only happened using Earthmate and not from the inReach mini directly.

Is there a way to prevent this?

Location not showing when a message is sent through the Earthmate app

I sent a message from the Earthmate App with the location enabled. When the message was received, a link was included. However, when I clicked on the link, it just brought up a world map and did not have a pin on the location from where the message was sent. Any ideas as to why this may be happening? Messaging works fine from the inReach mini device just fine. Thanks!
