The second from Garmin Express is not the internet download speed but the transfer speed of the map data that has already been downloaded directly to the GPS unit. If you look at the Garmin Express progress bar, the first 50% of it usually refers to the initial map download (from the internet) & compile progress to Garmin Express. The second 50% (50% and above) is the transfer speed from Garmin Express itself to the GPS. In your screenshot, the Garmin Express progress bar is at 75% meaning it's now transferring the map data directly to the GPS unit. This is usually the slowest part because Garmin devices tend to have a very limited interface speed. This is why the speed you are seeing (333.3k) is so limited...you are seeing the interface limits of the GPS unit itself and it's ability to accept the transferred data.

Forum Post: RE: Download Speed

One thing I’ve experienced is security software can impact transfer speeds. Solution: From Garmin Express Utilities, remove the Garmin device from the device list. Close Garmin Express completely. Either disable running in background or use task manager to end all instances of Garmin Express. Remove downloaded firmware. Use File Explorer to navigate to: “ C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Firmware ” and delete all folders from this directory. Connect Garmin Device to PC. Navigate to “Garmin” directory on Garmin Device. Remove any “.zip” files. Edit the “GarminDevice.xml” file in this directory with an XML aware editor such as Notepad++ Find the following data segment: 006-D1659-00 0 0 Garmin D165900.zip Change the “0” from Major and Minor to reflect the intended version (was 3 and 90 for me). This temporarily fools Garmin Express to believe you have the desired version installed. Without disconnecting Garmin Device, restart Garmin Express and add Garmin Device. Look for updates. It should NOT list the “Proximity text, GLX, All Languages” this time, however if you restart the device, the zero version numbers will reappear.

Forum Post: RE: Apple Silicon Support

Lol.

Forum Post: RE: Garmin Express version 7.28.1.0

I'm guessing updates are pushed out irrespective of the devices registered in Garmin Express & there probably aren't any device checks within the GE updater to determine whether it should be a mandatory or optional update so by making it mandatory for everyone it's a catch all that ensures that everyone with the affected devices is forced to update to the version that would enable them to recover their devices

Forum Post: RE: Garmin Express version 7.28.1.0

I wonder why it was made 'critical' and 'mandatory' to I suspect the majority of installations which were not affected?

Forum Post: RE: Is there a new procedure to do a Factory Data Reset on BWW Nav 6 with the new screen?

I don't know and I have a trip coming up this weekend and my routes are loaded and working correctly...
