VIRB edit inappropriately cropping track data

VIRB video edit is only using track data from the segment covered during single video shot instead of using full track from GPX file. I am dropping the gmetrix data/gpx data associated with the single video shot and loading full run GPX from a Garmin forerunner 310t.

The problem is track overlay only shows the track covered during the individual shot and not the full track of the entire run from start to finish. Gmetrix is clipping full track data to only the data that happened during the single video segment.

Can this be corrected to show full track in the overlay from run instead of just track covered during video segment?

I would like to have this option as well. This post if from a few years ago, but is exactly what i want to do (both for running and cycling). If someone knows how to do this, any help would be much appreciated…
