Virb edir distance calculation inaccurate?

Video from Virb Ultra 30 edited by Virb Edit verison 5.4.3 on Windows. (And Virb for Android)

Here is video from the boat trip edited to show few seconds from the beginning and about minute from the end to get Virb edit to show distance and map for entire trip:

The video shows the distance at the end to be 14.2 km. The actual distance is somewhere about 11.5 km.

I also imported the FIT-file to Garmin Connect so see the route on the map, that shows the distance for the activity to be 11.76 km which is probably pretty close to right.

I also calculated sum of point-to-point distances from the CSV-file exported by Virb edit when the video of the complete trip was processed. Result of this is 11.80 km.

It looks that the data from Virb Ultra 30 is accurate, but Virb edit is doing something strange when calculating distance for gauge rendering. (Same happens with mobile version of Virb edit on Android.) Also calculated 2D and 3D speeds look very strange, almost double the real speed, but that is not visible on the linked video.
