Garmin express 7.29.1 fail to connect to Garmin's servers .
I have Fenix 7X solar device and it fails to login with my Garmin acount.
There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers. We're unable to sign you in because our servers are unavailable at this time.

I wouldn't say it is after recording an activity. I record appr. 8 rides and 3 runs every week.
If you take a look at the screenshots, it started somewhere in June. Since them, sometimes it's OK and sometimes not.

Sometimes I charge my watch via PC, sometimes not.

Considering it acts like this for many weeks, I don't think it will resolve itself.

Any help would be appreciated. I am training towards a full marathon in November, my 10th, and this race predictor used to be my main KPI to see how I am doing.

My race predictor is going crazy: since the beginning of June, it toggles my predictions from top amateur athlete (which I am not) to regular amateur althlete (which I am).

The pattern is really weird: every now and then (bit random) my prediction goes to ~3h marathon and every now and then (again random) it switches back to ~4.30h marathon.

The latter is realistic.

Some of my other data:

- VO2MAX ~46

- Lactate threshold 155BPM, pace 5:19

In June I stopped running for 4 weeks to go on holiday.

It looks like it will recover from this. Any suggestions how to fix the race predictor?

Garming express found a map update for my 2019 Honda CRV 2019, but when i Try ro download my country ( Italy) is not present in teh list.My Pc have teh correct Region/date /hour.

Update: Contacted Garmin support. They say they've discontinued their partnership with Honda and that map updates are no longer available. However, the update is available on Garmin Express...but not purchasable. What can I say? Truly inadequate communication and service! Long live Android Auto!

it is almost comical how messed up and broken the 7 series is compare to the 6 series

except I am not laughing being stuck with this pile of bugs and broken features every day

almost every damn "feature" has some kind of bug on this watch, backlight, weather, sensor connections, everything

now why do the glances keep getting their order reset after I change and save them?

I suspect it has to do with a conflict between the watch as source for settings vs something in the phone app and they are fighting it out

Did Garmin fire all their best developers after 2020? is there just one developer that moves from watch to watch and is now just working on the newer 70/170 series?

Peabody’s link is good but read through it in entirety prior to doing anything. For one thing the instructions state “NOTE: Using a USB drive smaller or larger than 16 GB may cause the update to fail.”. The next thing of importance is the download to a USB stick and the update to the car have to be done within 24 hours. And the update can take as long as four hours. I always have a trickle charge attached when i do the update.

If you can get hold of Garmin Express to v7.17.3, then you probably would come right. That was the last version of GE that was supported under Windows 7.

USB is 32 GB. Corrrctly formatted. Veichle info are on. Garmin Express detect map update but to buy Is necessary select country from Menù...but Italy Is not present

I do see that you have stated that this is random at times, When the incorrect race prediction time does start to display is it after a activity is recorded or just general sync with Garmin Connect?

I've tried fiddling with the plug, no luck. Chimes happen, charging happens, but Garmin Express will not connect. This has only happened this morning after installing latest update. Not a problem in the past....

Is the USB device 16 MB? Does it have the vehicle information on it? Detailed instructions on the process are here:

It is bothersome that this Garmin Support page contains the phrase "verify the USB drive is exactly 16 GB and formatted correctly" but does not state the format type. I suspect it must be FAT32 based on my experience with my Garmin zumo device.

Thank you so much this fixed my problem, however...

First, I tried a different cable and port and voila it was able to read the internal storage and allow me to transfer the music with iTunes that I've been wanting to add, but now when I unplug and plug back in the watch, I'm back to the same problem I had before, were Garmin Express is stuck reading storage and I cannot manage music.

Maybe I'll try rebooting computer, or come back to this another day, for now I have put on the album I was wanting to put on and for that I am grateful for your help!!

Garmin Express 7.29, win11

cannot manage music (iTunes). I can see my iTunes music, but the pane below where it shows device music, nothing appears, however there is music on my watch and does play.

the checking capacity at the bottom never goes away

any help?

I uninstalled Garmin Express and reinstalled, didn't do anything. soft reboot fenix 7pro as well

Since the capacity bar never finishes, that usually means Windows isn’t actually mounting the Fenix as a storage device. Garmin Express can’t read music until the watch shows up in File Explorer.

Open File Explorer and look under This PC and make sure your Fenix 7 appears there. My Epix shows up immediately under “This PC,” and Express only works once Windows recognizes it.

If it’s missing, try a different USB port, a different cable, or reconnect the watch until Windows mounts it. Express won’t populate the music pane until that happens.

The activity should normally be in \Garmin\Activity, but if the file didn’t finish writing cleanly, Garmin sometimes leaves a partial FIT file in \Garmin\TempFIT. I’d restart the watch twice, reconnect it, and check both Activity and TempFIT to see if anything shows up.

Missing Activity, Won't Sync to Express, No Files in Folders

As title says, I have an activity from 7/21 that is saved on an Enduro 3 (latest Beta), but won't appear on Connect, Strava, etc. Tried uninstalling, re-sync'ing via BT and WIFI, etc. Activities before and after sync'd fine.

Using Express (and cleaning contacts, two cables, two computers, uninstalling, reinstalling, running as admin, etc), the watch won't connect, but shows up in Windows 11 File Explorer. However, the Folders in the watch are all empty. Watch memory is at 43% capacity.

Any ideas out there? Thanks much for your time.
