Impossible manage maps and software

With Garmin Express 7.28.0+f1c0ff2f e Windows 11 the ability to manage maps and software has disappeared, it says to update but nothing happens.

7.29.0 works at me also I can manage the maps on my Fenix 8 Amoled.

Thank you for your patience! It looks like an update to version 7.29 has been released with a fix to this. Once you update to that version of Garmin Express and are still seeing this concern, please create a new thread.

For several months now I have had no Manage Maps option in Garmin Express.

Reinstalling the software fixes it for one session, but as soon as the software is closed and reopened I lose the option again.

Which phone do you have? You posted in the Garmin Express forum, so it is not clear.

If the old phone or any other mobile device is nearby, be sure to uninstall Garmin Connect and any other Garmin apps from those devices, and remove the Garmin S42 from the Bluetooth settings.

Then follow one of these instructional videos.

Opening Garmin Express today the latest version (2026.1) of applicable maps were shown to be available for my device.

After selecting the maps in the Map Manager, the old versions were deleted from my F7Pro, but the new versions continually fail to load, even after many+1 attempts

It does at times seems to go through successfully, but it is not visible on the device under installed maps

Other times the load and installation process will just fail when re-running:

Subsequently I have no useable maps available on my device currently :(

Any ideas will be appreciated

Proximity Text, GLX, All Languages Update Loop

I am trying to update my maps, but first Garmin Express insist on updating the Proximity Text, GLX, All Languages to 3.90.

The D165900.zip is placed on the unit, but does not seem to ever complete the process.
I saw another post, which suggested removing the zip, trying again, and powering-up the unit for several minutes before reconnecting to the PC, removing the device from Garmin Express, and then readding. This does not help.

Garmin Express says the update was "successful," but continues to insist that this update needs to be done.

I was able to update the language file.

How can I get the latest maps to install?

Thank you for your patience. Please try to view the details on available updates then select to install just the map update. This should allow the map update to be installed with no further issues unless there is some other factor affecting the update of the device.

I have tried updating Garmin Express and have hit a wall with this problem

I have tried removing all trace of garmin from the registry, uninstalled using microsoft and 3rd party apps and still cannot get this to install now

It states ProgramData\Package Cache\{E6DF576-460E-4729-95F0-7DBA5FEEA62E}v7.27.1.0\ExpressInstaller.msi cannot be found

I am pulling my hair out

I have have been able to connect with Garmin Express for several years via Windows 11 and my Forerunner 265. Now all of a sudden when I plug my watch in via USB all I get is a charging notice on my watch but no connection to Garmin Express. I have tried different USB cable and cleaned connectors. Also shut down/start The problem seemed to have started after my latest update to Garmin Express (vsn 7.28.1).

I have not removed and reinstalled Garmin Express yet .. but waiting to see if someone can suggest another alternative.

It sounds like the troubleshooting we provided the other day didn't work. The issue should be resolved in the next application version release, but we don't have details about when that will be yet.

Even if Wi-Fi “connects”, Garmin devices often fail if:

The network uses a captive portal (hotel, public Wi-Fi login page)
DNS filtering or parental control is active
The router blocks unknown HTTPS connections

Drivesmart55 update over wifi

I had a guestion before on updating Drivesmart 55 with Garmin Express which was ruled as a no-go, so I tried to connect it to wifi. I get a wifi connection, but update immediately failss with unable to connect to the update server. What do I miss? Other devices (Android smartphone, old Blackberry smartphone, notebook) using the wifi just work... Is there any way to troubleshoot? Do I need to set up some account? Thanks in advance!
