I&amp;#39;ve resetted it many times including factory resets etc and reinstalling garmin express.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now i cant really connect my s20&amp;nbsp;to&amp;nbsp;garmin express to find my unit. When i&amp;#39;ve managed to connect it to garmin express the course files for all regions are too large, which is fine i guess. I only need Europe installed.&lt;br /&gt;The problem is thought, that the garmin express interface is disabled when trying to interact with the checkboxes. So im stuck, cant update it nor use the s20 since it&amp;#39;s stuck in either &amp;quot;garmin&amp;quot;-start or the usb connect screen. Doesnt work by hard resetting it, factory resetting it etc. I&amp;#39;ve tried all listed reset types from garmin.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ocasionally the screen reloads saying &amp;quot;missing&amp;nbsp;golf maps&amp;quot;. &lt;p&gt;but just to help other advanced power users on older Windows, if you want to try the newer versions of Express that typically will refuse to install/work&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;just use VxKex-Next&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve been using Express 7.28 on Windows7 for a few days now without any problems at all&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;VxKex just simulates the missing API calls they are trying to use for Windows10 and lies to the program to tell it Windows10 is installed&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Hope that helps someone someday&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I think it could be a device issue - as my Fenix 6X Pro updated its maps no problem.&lt;/p&gt;

Time remaining has gone from 1 hour to 12:15 hours remaining AFTER over 20 hours of being connected to the computer and it keeps on going up as the transfer rate slows down.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is the third time I have tried to update it. The first time it failed. The second time it got stuck at 70% for 12 days. There is an 8GB SD card.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When I log into Garmin Express it still offers me last years 2025 update for my Garmin Edge 1050. I understand that this is because I am &amp;quot;Stuck&amp;quot; on the regional split, and not the entire continent map. As the individual maps are no longer being updated, I will forever be stuck on that update. I also understand that the latest update for the Maps was released in Feb 2026 which I cannot get because of this problem.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The device itself shows that it can download the update for Europe, but when I ask it to do that, it says its downloading the map, and says it will take 10+ hours to do so I have a 2000mbps internet connetion, and I would really like to download the map into express and then squirt it onto my 1050, like I normally do, and in less than 45 minutes that it normally takes, not 10+ Hours.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Deleted the maps off the device and the&amp;nbsp;GarminDevice.xml from it as well.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Uninstalled Garmin Express from my PC and reinstalled it from the fresh download from Garmin running 7.28.0+f1c0ff2f.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Signed out of Garmin Express and Back in again.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Removed the device from Garmin Express and readded it.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But it refuses to see the map. He has no smart-phone yet, but Garmin allows me to setup an account for him under my parent account. T&lt;br /&gt;o my suprise Garmin Express blocked introducing his account due to the fact it was a child account. &lt;br /&gt;This now forces me to use my own phone to sync, &lt;br /&gt;meaning &lt;br /&gt;- I need to log out of my own account, &lt;br /&gt;- login to his, &lt;br /&gt;- sync and &lt;br /&gt;- login to my own account again.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In all still ok, but....&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;with that sync my son also has my calendar appointments, and possibly messages I generally receive on my watch. And even after logging back in on my own account, the calendar meetings remain in the watch including reminders &lt;span class="emoticon" data-url="https://forums.garmin.com/cfs-file/__key/system/emoji/1f61b.svg" title="Stuck out tongue"&gt;&amp;#x1f61b;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So besides buying him a smart-phone (or creating an android account on my phone for this) he doesn&amp;#39;t need, Garmin Express seems to be the best tool for the job. Maybe you had good reason for this block, or have a better solution. I am curious what that is.
