 I got my forerunner 10 back in January this year. Since i had it i have had trouble syncing the data, it would work in a USB port for a while and then it would stop syncing. I checked the USB port and other devices worked fine. &lt;br /&gt;I am sorry for the troubles.  It sounds like you might be experiencing some hardware issues if the computer does not recognize the FR10 consistently when it is connected.  The FR10 is a mass storage device so the computer should recognize it as a USB Mass Storage device every time it is connected.  Please see the FAQ: Why doesn&amp;#39;t my computer detect my device when it&amp;#39;s in USB Mass Storage Mode?

&lt;br /&gt;Make sure Garmin Express is up to date and delete the FR10 from Express and Connect then pair it again.
