Can't download Workouts and Courses to 310xt

Hi,

I am infuriated.

Everything worked fine until Garmin Express was introduced half a year ago.
I kept using the old ANT Agent as a workaround, but that stopped working a while back.

Currently:
---------

- The new Garmin Express is paired with my device, Activities are uploaded to Garmin Connect fine. The only problem is with downloading Workouts and Courses to the watch: either the Sync button in GE is greyed out or "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" (although there is a green moving progress bar for a moment).

- The old ANT Agent (+ communicator plugin) pairs with my 310xt after installation, even seems to be transferring data (with a % progress bar and all..) but then suddenly can't find the device anymore. Clicking "Send to device" on a Course in Garmin Connect classic view gives error "No devices found".

I have tried countless times updating, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, removing and pairing the device, a master reset of my 310xt, clearing respective Garmin folders in Program Files, %Programdata% and %appdata%, 4 different web browsers on 3 PCs and finally upgraded from WinXP to 7. NOTHING HELPS.

@GARMIN SUPPORT: What steps should I follow?!

Thanks, but my problem is not with uploading Activities.
  • Just wanted to ensure though that it's set up correctly. Not clear from your post but have you also deleted then reassociated your device in Express? Details are here http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={8a5f1480-ddf1-11e2-7dd9-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

I assume you're running the latest version of Express?

Yes, I have updated Garmin Express to it's latest version (currently 3.2.7.0), removed the device and reassociated it. Probably about 30 times by now. On this PC and several others, on Windows XP and Windows 7. I have been reinstalling, updating, removing, adding, resetting and cleaning for the last 6 months! Have been doing so periodically each time hoping something has changed (as in: maybe the newest software works).

Look, the problem I seem having is quite specific, as stated in the title. The device itself is paired up with Garmin Connect just FINE and even Sync works, but not for Workouts or Courses, which are features that made me buy this watch in the first place.

Could a Garmin employee perhaps answer to this post?

Last communication (end of march) was that this is a KNOWN problem, "we are working on it", and that we should use ANT Agent as a workaround, see the answer provided by EXPRESSCUSTOMERCARE (Shane) here which is basically the same I have received from [email protected] in February.

But the workaround doesn't work anymore. So what now?

I need to download a particular Course to my 310XT by tomorrow evening, please HELP.

Garmin: If this is not possible just tell me and I will stop trying!!!

Garmin Express is compatible with sending your workouts or courses from Garmin Connect. I would suggest three things, the first is to update Express to 3.2.8. To upgrade to the latest version, Check for Application Updates on the Settings page within the Express application. Next, I suggest a master reset of the 310XT. If neither suggestion resolves your issue, I would then suggest try creating a new course/workout in Express to determine if maybe it's an issue with the created workout/course.

Thank you EXPRESSCUSTOMERCARE, the master reset did it!
I can now download courses and workouts with no problem.
