I had a similar issue before, and the key thing is that BaseCamp usually hands the map transfer over to Garmin MapInstall. With the eTrex 32x connected, try BaseCamp → Maps → Install Maps, then select the eTrex or its microSD card in MapInstall. Garmin confirms that MapInstall is the tool used to transfer compatible maps to the device.

Also make sure the maps are actually installed on your computer and unlocked for that device. If BaseCamp is only reading the maps from another GPS or SD card, Garmin says they can't be installed onto another device that way.

If the option still doesn't appear, I'd update BaseCamp/MapInstall and reconnect the eTrex before trying again. The pipacombate.com.br link can be kept separate from the actual Garmin troubleshooting.

I bought a new Erex32x, and when I try to install maps from Basecamp onto the GPS, it won't let me (the option either doesn't appear or isn't working). I don't know what the problem might be, but I need to be able to install some of the maps I have in Basecamp. I'm attaching a couple of screenshots. Can anyone help me with this problem? Garmin, can you PLEASE let us know ahead of time when Spotify is about to expire?? It is a pain to find out I expired content in my watch and need to "update" right before workout? How hard is it it to give me a week notice so I can do the update ahead of time? Thanks!

Hello, My father in-law gifted me his old military GPSmap 60CSx, and due to its age Garmin no longer supports it. and would like some advice on how and where i can update it to the most current maps.

No worries mate. I don't know where to post this between the watch and it being Spotify music app functionality that was set up through Garmin Express. This is why I posted it on the first place I could find, hoping to get attention of Garmin support.

it is not a subscription expiration, you missed the point. Every so often Garmin watch requires you to relogin to Spotify within the watch so they can verify that your subscription is still active. My subscription did not expire - this validation occurs at most random times and the fix for making one of the biggest features of Garmin 7 (music) is very simple if you just think about making product for the people (you notify them ahead of time and give them time to do it). When I'm about to go on workout and content expires, I have to sit there for 30min for music content to update just so it will continue working.

Wow! I guess you must have been pretty angry over the inconvenience of not having Spotify to workout by. I don't understand the expectation that Garmin should notify you of a Spotify expiration though. AFAIK, your watch is running a Spotify app which connects to YOUR Spotify account. If anything, Spotify should be notifying you of an upcoming expiration. Here's a thought: Take personal responsibility for tracking your subscriptions expirations. This event certainly didn't warrant your post in this unrelated Basecamp Windows forum.

Mine is too. There are some options on my zumo XT for widening it but I don't see the need because if the track line and the route line are different colors, any deviation of the route from the track will be visible because the two lines will diverge.

In Basecamp, I have the track colour set to dark grey and on the screen they are dark grey. However, when I copy them to my montana using basecamp, they are all magenta. I'm not referring to the active track that is created while I paddle. That one, I can change in the montana. I mean the track that I am following from basecamp. If this is a montana issue, I'm sorry to post here. However, is there a way to change the track colour on the montana? If that done through basecamp? thank you

I apologize for the long delay. I was at a cottage and had sporatic connections. No I am talking about tracks not routes. I tried Peabody's suggestion and it seemed to work. I will be sure soon.One thing that I did see was that I changed the colour using his instructions. However, the width of the track line was narrower than the default magenta line. I will be verifying that soon, too.

The 60CSx is an older but still very capable GPS. Since Garmin no longer provides current map updates for it, you may want to look into compatible third-party map sources that support older Garmin units. Before installing anything, I’d check the device’s firmware version, available storage, and whether the map uses the correct Garmin format.

It’s also a good idea to back up the existing maps and data first, so you can restore the original setup if something goes wrong. Hopefully someone here with a 60CSx can recommend a reliable current map source.

Hello, I’m experiencing the known routing‑engine failure in BaseCamp 4.7.5 where the Activity Profile is stuck on Hiking and cannot be changed. I have already contacted Garmin Support by phone and email, but they insist that BaseCamp 4.6.2 is not available.

I understand that some forum moderators have access to the original BaseCamp 4.6.2 installer and can provide it privately upon request.

Could GPSMAPGuy or MontanaMike please contact me so I can obtain the verified BaseCamp 4.6.2 installer for Windows?

Knowing the correct date or thinking it’s 19.4 years earlier doesn’t matter at all for the device, it will just work the same. All it needs to know is the correct week number to interpret the data that is coming from the satellites, that isn’t changed with the correction. Now it will show the correct datum, use it in the track logs and shows the correct sunrise/sunset times though.

It will still be slow compared to the 60CSx or eTrex Vista HCx…

I was able to correct the date/time on my 60CS (not the "x" variant; I was mistaken not having used it in such a long time) using GPSBabel along with the instructions on your website. The translation was not 100% clear but I managed to get it done. Although the date/time is now correct, the unit is still slow to acquire GPS signals...it's the nature of the unit I guess, not being a high-sensitivity "H" model. I'll have to see if this will improve over time (need to let it sit for an extended period tracking birds) now that the date & time are correct.

The GPSMAP 60CSx may be just running fine with the correct date, but if it doesn't, it can be fixed easily with GPSBabel. That program can reset the internal clock. I've got every model of the GPSMAP 60 line, each one shows the correct date.

The GPS week number rollover bug (it's not related to Y2K) can be fixed on almost every older Garmin device with GPSBabel or with the very old program "GpsEow" that Garmin made for the first rollover in 1999. The only requirement is that the device can communicate using the Garmin protocol over a serial or USB interface.

You will likely have an issue with the date being very wrong. I own one and it is very slow to acquire satellites and to stay locked onto them because the GPS receiver is of the older (low sensitivity) variety. I don't know if the slow acquisition is also due to the date bug (Y2K GPS week number rollover bug) but it makes the device somewhat irritating to use. My older eTrex Vista HCx also had the date bug but as it was a newer device (likely with an updatable High Sensitivity GPS chipset), It got a firmware/GPS chipset update that corrected this issue.

The 60CSx has never been updated to correct this since I believe the GPS chipset is not updatable

Not that it really matters if you're in agreement with each other on what "mode" the Garmin is in but the terminology used here is being mixed up. Mass Storage Mode and MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) are two different things.

Basecamp errors – Error messages and data not being saved in My Collection

I have downloaded data from my Edge 1030 plus into my collection in the Basecamp library and created a backup but after closing Basecamp and then restarting my data in in neither the My Collection nor available when trying to restore the data. I have received error messages during these processes.

I reinstalled version 4.7.5 twice.

On the second reinstall the error message Cannot transfer 1. Waypoints, 2. Routes, 3 tracks appeared just aftre Basecamp opened. I connected my device, downloaded/received data from my device which appeared in my collection. I created a restore point and the file appeared.

I shutdown and restarted Basecamp but there was no data in My Collection but the Basecamp Initialization window appeared and indicated it could not load the “List Data File”. If I don’t fix the data Basecamp simply closes. If I fix the data, there are no files restored in My Collection.

Side note: I recently made the mistake of using Microsoft MyCloud resulting in all my data being removed from my Windows PC and being placed on the cloud but in many cases the cloud folders were simply empty windows. I repeated the process and had duplicates in several locations. I ended up deleting all the files on the cloud and used a backup from a separate drive to reload my PC. So my file structure was probably comprimised during that process. The reloading of Basecamp occurred after the reloading of my PC files from the backup location. At some point I hope to try to recover many of my old Garmin files.
