Ik maak in Basecamp routes met een beperkt aantal zichtbare via-punten. Als ik bij zo'n via-punt aankom, dan breekt de routeaanwijzing af. Herberekenen (automatisch of op verzoek) levert een afwijkende route op. Niet herberekenen leidt tot noodzaak om opnieuw de route op te starten. En het gekke is, bij sommige punten vervolgt de route gewoon zoals je dat verwacht. Ik kan nergens een verschil tussen beide punten vinden.

That's likely to be the issue. Having multiple maps selected can cause numerous issues.

Ah ok. Think you'll need to create new waypoints and name them as you wish, then create the route.

ik maak routes met Basecamp. De vaste via-punten wil ik voorzien van een nummer door de naam te wijzigen. Ik Basecamp gaat dat goed, maar na verzenden naar Zumo staat er weer de ouden naam.

double-click the route

on the ‘Properties’ tab: double-click a waypoint

change the name

click ‘OK’

close the window with the ‘X’

and then ‘Send route to …’

Ik heb een Zumo XT. Ik had meerdere kaarten openstaan. Ik ga snel proberen wat er gebeurd als ik alleen CN open heb staan.

bij tabblad 'Eigenschappen': dubbelklik via-punt

wijzig naam

klik op 'OK'

sluit af met 'X'

en daarna de route 'verzenden naar ...'

Translation:

What device do you have? How are you creating the routes? Also confirm you only have the CN map selected on your device?

Translation: I create routes in BaseCamp with a limited number of visible via-points. When I reach one of these via-points, the route guidance cuts off. Recalculating (whether automatically or manually) results in a different route. Not recalculating makes it necessary to restart the route. The strange thing is that at some points, the route simply continues as expected. I cannot find any difference between the two types of points.

Trouble downloading and uploading waypoints on a Nuvi GPS

I have downloaded waypoints from a Nuvi GPS into Basecamp, but when I upload them to a Nuvi GPS (same model) some of the waypoints don't transfer over.

Any ideas? Is there another way to do this other than by Basecamp?

I was actually able to get it to work. I took the GPS and deleted all of the history along with deleting all of the saved waypoints. When trying to transfer it, I was telling it to go to the GPS unit itself. I tried sending it to the memory card and everything worked fine.

I'm not quite sure why that was happening as I could still add the missing waypoint into the GPS and they would stay.

I do appreciate you taking the time to assist.

Which nuvi? How many waypoints are on the second nuvi as there is a limit as to how many it can have. It is certainly more likely to be an issue with the nuvi rather than BaseCamp.

In MapSource you can also sort on Comment, Position, Elevation, Depth, Proximity, Temperature, Display or Date Modified. That's not possible in BaseCamp, it is limited to Name or Symbol (I guess TS means "Comment" with "Notes").

Yes. If you prefix the Waypoint name with a number, it sorts by number. I have not specified a "Sort By" setting other than "Ascending" so I assume the default is by name.

When I create multiday routes, my route points are prefixed to identify both day number and sequence number. For instance:

D1_01_Donald Duck Donuts

D1_02_Lunchtime Cafe

D1_03_Fuels-R-Us

D1_04_Got You To Look Museum

D1_05_Sleepytime Motel

D2_01_On The Go Diner

D2_02_Corner Bistro

In BaseCamp you can sort on symbol or name, not on other properties.

I think Garmin did right by having the location configurable and by providing a backup function. I hadn't heard that the backup function for the MAC is flawed. That is a shame and is understandably something to be annoyed over. A subdirectory of AppData has become a pretty common location for program data though. I hate it, but it is what it is.

Basecamp Alldata.gdb and Alldata.bak files Overwritten, database gone?

When launching BaseCamp v4.7.5, an error stating something about a list file popped up and I clicked "Attempt to Repair." I didn't write down exactly what the error said, and I cannot reproduce it.

BaseCamp booted up normally, however my entire database is gone. No waypoints, tracks, or routes from 8+ years of adventuring are present.

The AppData\roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp\Database\4.7 directory shows AllData.gdb and AllData.bak as 2KB files.

My assumption is that BaseCamp overwrote the existing database files and simply deleted the old ones.

Is there any way to get the previous database back? I do not have a manual backup besides the little data on my GPS because I blindly trusted that Garmin would have redundancy for this and would not just overwrite all previous data without saving the corrupted file separately.

If it was in “My Documents”, it might be at the risk of people just deleting the file.
