I can't install maps from Basecamp to Etrex32x

I bought a new Erex32x, and when I try to install maps from Basecamp onto the GPS, it won't let me (the option either doesn't appear or isn't working). I don't know what the problem might be, but I need to be able to install some of the maps I have in Basecamp. I'm attaching a couple of screenshots. Can anyone help me with this problem? City Navigator North America NT 2027.1 seems to be detailed streets etc of smaller towns

using the City Navigator North America NT 2027 in basecamp connected via my Zumo 660 and the street resolution of smaller towns or parks etc is now missing - as I recall it used to be visible. Needless to say it makes planning difficult. Is there a way for basecamp to show this additional detail. What is the workaround if any? I tried changing Display rendering quality to high but that didn't work.

I’ve downloaded both Garmin Express and BaseCamp. Is BaseCamp not compatible with the Zumo XT3? Also, I can’t figure out how to load the detailed map into BaseCamp. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

can you confirm "gpxtrkx:Distance" is computed using mean speed by duration?

It's not described in garmin documentation, but it's seem it's the only explanation to the value de <gpxtrkx:Distance> attribute of gpx track by garmin using Garmin64S.

See under a sample:

mean speed : 2.61km/h

duration : 6h16mn

2,61km/h ×(6+1÷4+1÷60)h = 16km36

but the sum of slope distance = 14km78

and the horizontal distance = 14km56

14km78 vs 16km36

Latest Topo Maps not compatible with Basecamp

Just want to check that it's not my system: Normally I can view any Garmin Topo Maps on my devices by connecting them to my PC and loading Basecamp. It's a very slow process but does work. I've just downloaded 2 of the latest maps (Hong Kong and also China) and I now get an error saying there is an issue with both the maps. This happens on my D2 Mach 2 Pro and also on my H1 Plus. Loading the maps from SD card doesn't work either. My other maps are all fine and the devices can use the new maps without issue.

I am aware that Garmin don't support Basecamp anymore and that this was bound to happen eventually. Have the map file formats changed recently? If they have I'll stop trying and find alternative maps as I use Basecamp for all my planing as I can't stand the lag and latency of the online Explore site and my fingers are not nimble enough to use the smartphone app!

US TOPO 24K CDs and Basecamp

I'm moving onto a new PC and wanting to use Basecamp with the maps I have on CD: "US TOPO 24K National Parks West" and "US TOPO 24K National Parks East". I'm able to run Setup on those CDs and they install successfully, but the maps don't show up in the Basecamp UI. I've installed the US Topo Maps and MetroGuide Europe from CD and those do show up in Basecamp, so I'm not sure what's different about the National Parks maps. Any advice on how to solve this would is appreciated.

Who designed this nonsense????? All I wanted was a place to keep my devices updated. What an utter disappointment Garmin has become. I use Garmin GPS daily. I have ZERO interest in most of the things here! And Garmin does not care! no customer support.

Basecamp Database crashes upon exit and won't restore backups,

I am trying to create a database of ATV Trails where trail is its own GPX file. I have a couple hundred trails am am using lists to sort different types. Every time I close basecamp i get an error, and all my data is lost when i reopen it. i have tried making a backup before closing, but basecamp crashes every time i try to restore the backup. the only way i have been able to save my progress is by exporting all my tracks in a GPX format or transferring them to my device before closing basecamp. by doing this i lose all my lists though. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect. i have tried restoring the backup on a different computer and it will not restore there either. i have tried this several times and get the same result. Any help would be appreciated.

Homeport 2.3.2 and marine charts

Recently I put another removable drive in a PC. That drive has (old) Garmin marine charts and street maps (IMG's) on it.

So on three different (and three different versions of Windows) Homeport 2.3.2 (which I know is obsolete) will no longer use those old marine charts. Except for the really old ones installed on HD (per street maps).

On two of the three PC's I "reset" Homeport 2.3.2 and NONE of the charts were recognised (some were beforehand but now the processing bar shows red before the charts disappear). They'd all worked in the past. On the third machine I can still see/select them but get an error message ("An error occurred when attempting to use the <chart name> Chart product") if any are selected. This also happened on the other two machines (before Homeport was "reset").

All removable drives are ok (verified via CHKDSK) and street maps (IMG's) on those drives are recognized and work. Only marine charts don't.

Comments?

PS: I tried a one of the marine charts that was already on the microSD card in my Oregon 600. It worked there. When the Orgeon 600 was put in "mass storage" mode Homeport 2.3.2 saw the loaded marine charts.

PPS: So it seems that the old "put IMG's on a removable drive" no longer works for marine charts but still does for street maps.

PPPS: I found a copy of Homeport 2.2.10 dated 9th November 2015 on archive.org. It has the same issue as above in a WinXP SP3 VM.

PPPPS: Good news. Connecting my (real) Oregon 600 made the marine charts on it work even when disconnected.

quando vado a collegare il gps 700 sul pc e vado a visualizzare la memoria interna del gps mi soprappone tutte le tracce registrate dal gps,

chiedo c'è un settaggio da poter visualizzare solamente la traccia selezionata. ??

Heads Up When Updating DriveSmart Maps to PC, it also updates Basecamp

I updated my DriveSmart GPS map using Garmin Express. Express gives the option to also load the map onto my PC for use by Basecamp, and I selected that as well.

It turns out that Express also updates Basecamp and as a result, Basecamp no longer contains the 100s of trail lists I have accumulated over the years. That discovery was close to a heart attack that!

I then reinstalled Basecamp 4.6.2 on the PC, and all my 100s of lists are now present, life-threatening event averted!

Basecamp shows hundreds of "unknown" waypoints

I just installed new Maps (2027.1) on my Smart 60 and everything went well but, when I opened Basecamp, I see hundreds of black dots that seriously clutter the screen on wide zoom levels. The dots show up on any zoom level below 30 miles. When I click on the dot, it just says "unknown". I used to have a problem with airports showing up on wider zooms cluttering the screen, but discovered that I can disable that from the "Map Display Features" in the Options|Activity Profile. I have unchecked all of the boxes in here to try to get rid of them, but they persist.

I thought that maybe it had something to do with the new maps having a lot of new types of points, but when I switched back to my 2026.3 maps, the dots were still displayed.

Anyone know what's going on?

Basecamp Windows: delete old map breaks everything

Running Basecamp 4.7.5 Windows (in Parallels on a Mac but that shouldn't matter.) I am trying to delete some old maps. In Windows Control Panel I go to Uninstall Programs, pick one of the old ones, and click uninstall. It does its thing. Then Basecamp is gone. The program shortcut doesn't work. When I search for Basecamp in Explorer, it shows "Basecamp 2D", and that is worthless too. I have to restore my Windows image from the last good one, and then Basecamp works again. This uninstall process used to work, since forever. But now it is broken. I can't uninstall maps, and every time a new map comes out that's another 5GB of disk space that I have to give up.

On the Basecamp map, when I click on a flag, showing a Waypoint; it doesn't show the editing window with the name and the the coordinates of the waypoint. Sometimes it shows right, but sometimes not.

Sometimes I just can't get this panel showing.

Basecamp playback speeds in Windows

The Windows version has higher playback speeds of x100 and x1000 but nothing in between. I believe the Mac version you can set your own speed.

It would be nice if Garmin added this to the Windows version or at least added some extra speeds of x200 , x300 , x400 , x500 and x750.

Route Milage does not agree between Basecamp and my Nav6

I have made custom routes many times and while there is usually some discrepancy between the mileage I see in Basecamp and the mileage for the same route in the GPS (5-10 miles) which is understandable... on my new replacement Nav 6 I see DOUBLE the mileage although looking at the map on the Nav6 the map appears to be correct.
It seems as if the Nav is showing my route as a ROUND TRIP although the route directions do not show it is a Round Trip.

Two Copies of City Navigator North America 2026.3 appear on my Nav 6?

I recently received a replacement BMW NAV 6 from Garmin and I notice there are TWO copies of City Navigator North America 2026.3 on my device.
Should there be two copies and if not how do I remove one of them?

Cache Size: 15.8 GB in user/appdata/local/garmin/basecamp/devicecache. Can I just delete either all the files or entire folders in that cache folder?

I have an Etrex 30x. It has a mini SD card that is FAT 32 and has several .img maps on it that I downloaded. They work fine on the device, and I can see the files on my computer when I plug in my device. But the maps won't load in BaseCamp. How do I view them in BaseCamp?

For the past 6 months I have been having regular issues with the Garmin app updating chronic load and also recovery time. I sync my watch or bike computer after exercise and the activity loads up fine. However the chronic load takes quite some time to update in the 4 week chart, also the recovery time doesn't upload to my watch even after multiple sync attempts. None of these issues used to happen and they have been getting progressively worse. Parts of the devices show the updated data and other parts don't. It makes no sense when the activity is update buy the load data isn't on the app for example, its like the right hand is not talking to the left. . anyone else having these issues?
