Is it possible to livestream and record to memory card at the same time?

I was just broadcasting to Facebook from VIRB Ultra 30 (v4.6) with the iOS VIRB app (v4.3.1) on an iPhone (iOS 11.4). Unfortunately, I also had my Fenix 5 set as a camera remote (with recording mode as "Timer Start/Stop"), so when I started an activity on the watch, livestreaming on the app stopped. Now I have a livestreamed Facebook video until the start of the activity, and a separate recorded video of the activity :)

Impossible to export Video to YouTube (security issue)

Hi,

For several months now Virb Mobile and Virb edit are unable to export videos to YouTube.

Google has modifiied the way third parties are signing in with new security guidance. Garmin has not updated it apps. Thus it is impossible to export to an YouTube account because it is impossible to sign in (VIRBZ being consider by Google an untrusted app).

For those who expected to share on their account a video 360 from Virb 360, they just can [emoticon:6f61a5a028b641cb925f8551a1059cc2]. After 6 months now, Garmin have not bother updating its apps [emoticon:5a0f14c278ae4acab4f730543d564199].

Garmin Dashcam 55 Not connecting to VIRB on iphone 11

I''ve had a dual garmin dash cam 55 set up for the past year. I have recently had issues with my second dash cam that I have as the rear dash cam recorder. The trouble with my second Garmin Dash Cam 55. It's still stuck on the set up bug that has you putting in language, time, unit etc. I know it's a known issue, but it's still stuck in this setup boot loop. This is the current Dashcam 55's software version

Dashcam 55 has the following software version = software version 4.0, GPS Firmware 1.26

I have tried updating my camera through garmin express, but it will not complete the secondary part to where it will not install the current firmware update once you plug the dashcam back into in the car and I'm stuck on that boot loop.

Garmin Express ver 7.7.1.0 on my PC

Dashcam 55's Wifi is still detectable by my iOS devices, but the Garmin VIRB app cannot detect the dash cam itself.

iOS 14.7.1 on my iPhone 11
iPadOS 14.7.1 on my 4th gen Ipad pro 9.7 in model.

I need help in trying to factory reset my dash cam so I can install the new firmware.

Mobile app horizon stabilisation does not work

I have a clip, I use the director to choose my angles, looks great in the spp with the horizon lock stabilisation on. When exported, gives different angle and not what I chose. Change the stabilisation to vibration reduction only and on export it gives me what I directed just without the horizon lock and more vibration because of that

Harmon 65w no gallery share menu item??

Got the 65w dash cam and I am trying to use the VIRB application. Directions say go to Gallery and the “share” tab. There is no share option in the menu. Should there be? Or don’t you use the VIRB app? I have set up the Drive app and that detected my cam. Seems a little strange all the documentation says go to the gallery/ share menu.

I just bought a used one and I love it. I was orginally looking at the Insta360 One R, but they don't have any waterproof option for external power like the VIRB 360 does. Plus adding GMetrix is a lot easier with the VIRB 360. The app is a bit crap, though.

How do you save a 360 photo/video in ios?

I used to have google pixel and it was convenient how I can save 360 photos/videos on google photo, and I can view them in 360 interactive mode or google cardboard. Now in ios the images are saved as panoramas?? I can't view or edit them in other apps, and everytime I want to show my 360 photo/videos I either have to upload them onto social medias,or connect the virb 360 which is very VERY inconvenient.

does anyone have the iphone installation .ipa file for an older version of VIRB mobile? the current version requires minimum iOS12, and is further bogged down with excess features for latest garmin cameras. those of us with older cameras were better off with previous versions of VIRB mobile. no longer available from app store, and garmin refuses to give us access to the old files. hopefully, a prudent user out there archived the old install files.

I'm afraid that won't do you any good - aren't the files married to your Apple ID. If one could simply use an iOS application with any iOS device wouldn't that defeat the purpose of charging for the app? Despite the OP being a few months old perhaps someone may find this belated answer useful. :-)

I've been using the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 and so far I've been super pleased with it until this evening.
When trying to export a 20 sec clip after editing, I get a "Failed to export, if the this happens again, restart the app and your camera"?
Well I've done that... Kept doing it and still no luck.
It will let me take a picture of the moment but its not quite as comical as the full 20 seconds (which really makes a difference).
The strange part is it was only this one video.... Other videos worked fine.
So I deleted the video hoping it was a just a bug but hey ho, it's decided to move to another video - same problem - same error message!
Could someone please give a more detailed answer as to WHY its failing to export rather than the app repeatingly telling me its failing to export.
I have a Hawuie P20... So its not exactly an old phone.

Green Video export from Garmin Virb App

Hi,

My Virb x wont communicate with my pcs, so i can only export videos via the App. But the App only exports a green video. The sound and Gmetrix are there and only the very first frame, then just green.

Any ideas what im doing wrong?

VIRB app fails to upload hyperframed edit, after upload it shows a “360” clip in a 1920x1080 frame.

Hi all,

Since a few months I can’t upload a clip I edited in hyperframe in the mobile app, anymore. It just uploads a clip that shows the 360 footage in a 1920x1080 frame. This is quite annoying, ‘cause I want to go skiing and upload clips to social media right from the slopes. And I’m reluctant to bring a laptop while skiing. Is anybody familiar with this problem and know how to fix this?

Virb Ultra compass data + app connectivity

So I've tried asking Garmin support via email, and have been getting responses that don't even relate to the question I am asking. The question is, why is the Ultra 30 recording what seems like interpolated compass image heading when using interval mode photo. Surely having a 100hz compass sensor should mean it's capable of using it?

To make this is more on-topic, the app would randomly fail to connect to the virb, and the remote wake never worked

I create a video in hyper view and then when I click done and finish the video has a strip of cut out stuff down each sides and distorts image shows extra bits with glare and later on distorts when preview did not

Hey! Guys, I am unable to connect my iPhone 7 via VIRB to my Garmin dash cam 55. The WiFi of garmin shows connected to iPhone but on the top-left side no sign of WiFi. I have gone through the forum content but no relief. Even the Garmin, Taiwan and India couldn’t assist me.

VIRB elite will not connect to Galaxy S10.

I got a new phone (Samsung Galaxy S10 - Android 9.0) and I cannot get it to connect to my VIRB elite camera. My phone finds the the camera's WIFI and it seems like I can enter the WIFI network name and password bit the app just says "CANNOT CONNECT TO VIRB. PLEASE TRY RESTARTING THE CAMERA". I can connect to the VIRB with my old Galaxy S6 phone so it looks like the camera is OK. Any ideas? I tried removing the WIFI network, reinstalling the VIRB app... Still not able to connect. Thanks for any help!
