Where did I get this gauge from?

I've been using VIRB Edit for years and I had to format my PC. I completely forgot how to add/backup custom gauges so I lost the one I loved.

I'm pretty sure I downloaded it from somewhere, but can't figure out where. Any clues?

VIRB EDIT FIX FOR API ISSUES SYNCING G-METRIX DATA & VIDEO BY ALTERING XML FILES

Thanks to Flick87 I am now able use use VIRB EDIT again & sync G-Metrix data with my videos.

Flick87 posted a fix by altering Telemetry Timings in XML files. It is quite a simple method once you get the hang of it & I have found it to be quicker than the original Google Map sync when syncing multiple videos. It also eliminated the slight hesitation I sometimes got with the time gauge when joining videos. I found my videos were actually 8m 52.5 seconds long.

I have made a short YouTube video showing the way I did it, with an Excel Document for calculating the timings that you will need to alter in the XML file.

My data timings were one hour different to the Strava time. I don’t know whether this relates to which time zone you are in compared to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). I would be interested to know.

I have been using a GoPro Hero 7 with Strava GPX / FIT files.

If I have made any errors or if you have any comments please let me know.

Video Player with map

I am looking for a video player that will also display the location of the recording on a map.

Garmin's "Dash Cam Player" is no longer available and Garmin's VIRB Edit does not seem to do it.

Any suggestions?

Garmin Virb Edit Video and Data Sync Workaround

I did some testing to find a workaround to syncing video and fitness files in Garmin Virb Edit after it recently broke. This method involves editing the metadata of your video files (using a script and ffmpeg) so when you import them into Garmin Virb Edit, they are in sync with your fitness data. Essentially this is manually syncing your video files using Strava flyby (which shows your activity time) and your source video files.

All my testing was done with GoPro Hero 11 mini video files. Please let me know if they does or doesn't work with other cameras or if it needs changes. I've only done limited testing, but, wanted to share to see if there are changes I should make.

I haven't had time to write proper usage and instructions. For now I made a screen recording and YouTube video of how to install and use the script.

Script error synchronizing Gmetrix (marker.js and controls.js) - [WORKAROUND]

Hi,

A few weeks ago I corrected a similar error by adding the VirbEdit.exe variable (00002ee1) to the Windows registry, but apparently many people have had 2 new similar errors appear about 2 weeks ago:

maps.googleapis.com/.../marker.js
maps.googleapis.com/.../controls.js

I see several open threads about this problem... No response/solution from Garmin yet?

VirbEdit is a useless application if synchronization between GPS and multimedia data cannot be performed.

Since yesterday , I can have the map but there is no point of location on it and I have no more satellite views, so it's impossible to synchronize the video and the data

For synchronization, the location on the Google map should be the same as the video taken, but the location cannot be changed on the map.

Power data not appearing when i extract from connect to virb edit

I extracted my data from garmin connect which has full power data in it to GPX file.

when i upload to Virb edit - there is no power data showing?

I also tried extracting to FIT file but get the same issue.

any ideas?

I am searching for the Source code of VIRB EDIT for Windows Desktop, currently the page VIRB | Open Source | Garmin Developers , has links for download archives , but there is nothing related to the UI part of the VIRB in the files. The link contains only ffmpeg files, which is a free library a here: GitHub - FFmpeg/FFmpeg: Mirror of https://git.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.git

Since the VIRB EDIT is no longer supported and it's free, why not give it to people. I want to make some tweaks to be more usable.

With a special tools, inspecting the Virb.exe from installation directory. it seems its written in C# which most people are familiar.

VIRB Edit Versions - current one is crashing

I have had VIRB Edit 5.3 installed and working for a number of years.

Recorded first videos of the year and went to edit with the linked 2 camera edit.

With 5.3 installed it gets shut down with the instruction that there is a later version available.

When I download the current 5.4.3 and attempt to create a video, after bringing the raw files into the editor - IT CRASHES.

NO JOY!

Hola,

He probado todo lo que he leído del foro y sigo con los mismos problemas, no aparece el mapa y cuando importo los G-metrix no importa del fichero gpx los watios.

Esto es de locos, os dejo pantallazos de todo para que lo veáis, si alguien fuera tan amable de ayudarme se lo agradecería.

El programa tampoco se me queda instalado en el pc, cada vez que lo intento tengo que ir a la página garmin desinstalar y volver a instalar, no entiendo nada.

Si hay por ahí un alma caritativa que me ayuda porfavor.

Garmin VIRB Edit Screen Error (Korea)

Since switching to GoPro 10, the Garminbub screen is not full.

When importing videos, the video player says "there was an error playing the video" I have updated all of my drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled, tried different videos, nothing works. (it worked on my dad's windows 10 computer, although it was unbearably slow) I am on windows 11 with NVDIA Geforce RTX 2060. Please help

We purchased 4x Virb Ultra 30 cameras for our team for highway vegetation surveys I think back in 2018. The associated gmetrix mapping was great for pin pointing locations efficiently when playing back videos, but it is no longer working, we are all experiencing Google API script errors which means no mapping. This now makes these cameras useless. How likely is it that there will be an official fix for this? Can anyone recommend another product (Garmin or other wise) that has working aerial/satellite mapping with video playback for Windows.

We actually had the same issue with another brand of dashcams in 2018 and changed to the Virb Ultras only to have the same issue now with these. It seems the lack of ongoing software support is rendering these products as useless after a few years, they make very expensive paperweights at the moment.

Hola, tengo problemas con el programa... en una pc (Lenta) puedo hacer la sincronizacion de los datos pero no me deja exportar; entonces se me ocurrio guardar el proyecto, copiarlo y pasarlo a otra pc (Rapida) donde no me deja sincronizar pero si me deja exportar. Alguien sabe si es posible hacerlo?

Photo Capture/Export No Longer Includes GPS Data in EXIF

Have used VIRB Edit Windows for many years on numerous projects. One important function to me is the ability to capture photos from videos w/ G-Metrix data and utilize those images with EXIF data for other purposes. Most recent project failed to include GPS Data with the images generated from video. I do know you must wait for G-Metrix data to fully load in order for the data to be included, but for some reason this function (including EXIF data) with photos is no longer working. Anyone else encountered this issue or know of a solution?

Editing VRIB Video with Premiere Pro and GoPro FX Reframe Plugin

There's an alternative or supplement to VIRB Edit for reframing and editing 360 video.

VIRB Edit works well for adding GPS data and reframing, but is super limited as editing software.

On the other hand, Premiere Pro is a great editor, but isn't great for reframing.

But there's a free plugin for PP that allows you to reframe like VIRB Edit's HyperFrame Director. It's called GoPro FX Reframe (available for download from GoPro).

I'm just experimenting with it. But here's the general workflow:

Import into VIRB Edit.

Add G-Mextrix data as desired.

Export full clip as 360 .mp4.

Add the GoPro FX plugin to Premiere Pro

Import your 360 clip into Premiere Pro

Create a proxy if the clip is too big for your computer.

Add clip to the timeline (Adjust 360 settings as needed)

Drop the GoPro FX Effect onto your clip.

Then in the Effects pane, use the pan, tilt, rotate, and zoom controls along with key frames to manipulate your video.

Edit, and titles, other effects, sound, etc. Then export you finished project.

Works well so far.

Note: Requires Premiere Pro 2018 or newer.

Like always, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube.

Map not showing up when I try to synch

On Windows 10, using .fit file from Garmin Edge 830.

Chose data tab and then select the correct .fit file directly on Garmin, select use this data.

Opens split screen with the entire right side a big white blank, so there is no way I can select a synch point.
