Yes, Homeport works with Bluechart maps, but -- alas -- not with recent versions of MacOS. You'll need a Windows PC to do any handheld-to-computer connections.

I just bought the GPSMAP 86sc. It comes pre-loaded with Bluechart maps. I want to plan routes and sync them to the 86sc. Is this done with Explorer? Homeport? Something else? I have installed Explorer, but it does not have Bluechart maps. Homeport appears to work with Marine plotters.

I belong to a boat club which is why the 86sc was a good choice for me. All help is appreciated.

Im not using the Homeport anymore as it wont run on MAC anymore. Gave up, bought an iPad and i am using Active Captain. Not in love with the situation.

Not sure what exactly you experienced, but I'm always surprised to see this sort of thing. My experience has been the exact opposite when needing to contact support over the last 17 years.

This has been more than frustrating, as the attitude of Garmin support has been, so what. There is no 64 bit OS Mac version coming, buy windows.

Well I am not going to buy another Garmin product. And when I am asked about Garmin I will tell them to use caution and look at competitors before buying

Garmin has lost me as a customer, the attitude I received today from support is unacceptable. I work for a electronics manufacturer and if anyone on our support team spoke to a customer in the way I experienced, they would be fired.

Seriously irritated by this. Just upgraded all our chart plotters to Garmin. Really wish I went with Raymarine or B&G now! Come on Garmin, get your act together.

Well I purchased the G3 Map package update, Tried to run HomePort.... Nope Called support and was told by a windows attitude user that Garmin was not going to port to 64 bit for Mac

Basically it was go away. I have had Garmin products for 20 years. Current boat GPSplotter, radar, VHF 210 (which can not be loaded into Garmin Express, 3rd party device)

Garmin support is terrible, I hope they update Homeport, not holding my breath.

I've got a simply fix for us Apple users. Simply create a "bootable" OS flash drive that contains the macOS Mojave. Then boot your computer while holding down the Option key and you'll be asked to select which drive to boot from your bulit-in drive or the new flash drive, Pick the Mojave flash drive. Once you've done that download HomePort from the Internet, install it on the same flash drive and you back up running same as the old days. Simply and easy, plus it doesn't take away any space on your computer's hardive and doesn't require using BootCamp.

The route detail is very confusing.

The total distance value is not the one in the line of the route, but rather that of the next line.

Is there a way to change this display?

If there's something that you don't like about HomePort, or a feature that you want, reply here.

Simple changes and bug fixes can be made relatively quickly.

Changes to the user interface take more time but can happen more quickly if users request those features here in this forum.

I have to say that I was initially very leery of trying it, but downloading the zip file at http://www.javawa.nl/virtualdevice.html and copying the contents of my LakeVu chart to the virtual drive worked perfectly for viewing the chart in HomePort without having to connect my gps with the card installed.

Hope somebody out there reads this. I have a Macbook Pro. I have a Garmin Map76. I have Blue Charts for the Garmin that I bought and loaded onto my Map76 in 2003 using a borrowed PC. I'd like to be able to use Homeport for Mac to view and manage my Blue Charts on my Macbook. 1) Will Homeport allow my 2010 Mac to read and navigate through my 2003 Garmin Blue charts and 2) will I be able to communicate with my Map76 if I get the correct cord adapter for the Mac?

Currently if I attempt to load the Blue Charts CD into my Mac, it gives me an index of the contents, but nothing will run.

Thank you in advance for any info. about this very confusing topic--(which software for Mac, what does it do EXACTLY? Which exact Blue Charts will Homeport let you access (date, etc), and what is the nature of that interaction? etc etc)

I have a 2018 MBP & I can not view my Home Port charts without a memory card. Why can't I download to my computer instead of having to plug in the memory card reader every time ?

I don't think Garmin is even reading this forums. Such an important and critical app no ready for 64bit MacOS.

The Windows versions is a joke performance wise, particularly the graphics resolution and refresh rates,
